摘要: A method (400, 600, 700) and apparatus (220) for enhancing the intelligibility of speech emitted into a noisy environment. After filtering (408) ambient noise with a filter (304) that simulates the physical blocking of noise by a at least a part of a voice communication device (102) a frequency dependent SNR of received voice audio relative to ambient noise is computed (424) on a perceptual (e.g. Bark) frequency scale. Formants are identified (426, 600, 700) and the SNR in bands including certain formants are modified (508, 510) with formant enhancement gain factors in order to improve intelligibility. A set of high pass filter gains (338) is combined (516) with the formant enhancement gains factors yielding combined gains which are clipped (518), scaled (520) according to a total SNR, normalized (526), smoothed across time (530) and frequency (532) and used to reconstruct (532, 534) an audio signal.

摘要: A bright metal laminate comprises a highly reflective metal layer applied to a supporting baseweb comprising a flexible thermoplastic and thermoformable polyurethane film. The metal film comprises indium or an alloy of indium and is applied to a surface of the baseweb by vapor deposition techniques. An optically clear polymeric outer layer of preferably acrylic, PETG or polycarbonate resin is laminated in free-film form to the exposed surface of the metalized film under heat and pressure to bond the outer layer to the metal film. The surface of the polyurethane baseweb is sufficient to produce adhesion of the metal layer to the baseweb in the absence of an intervening bonding layer or surface treatment, while smoothing out the metal layer to a mirror-like finish under lamination to produce a reflective laminate having a distinctness-of-image (DOI) greater than 95. The laminate can be thermoformed to a three-dimensional shape while retaining its high DOI level.

摘要: A connector housing includes a housing assembly and a tray assembly. The tray assembly being slidably mounted relative to the housing assembly and having a first position within the housing assembly so that the tray assembly is fully inserted within the housing assembly in a stored position. The tray assembly also has a first position beyond an interior of the housing assembly. In the first position, a first portion of a tray of the tray assembly is rotatable relative to a second portion of the tray at a hingeable section of the tray, thereby allowing easier access to components, connections, and/or cables on the tray. In another embodiment, the tray assembly is slidable into a rearward position beyond the interior of the housing assembly.

摘要: An apparatus for restoring a necked-down end of a plastic core includes molding and curing stations and a core handling system having a carriage for sequentially positioning the core adjacent the stations. The molding and curing stations are heated and cooled, respectively, by heating elements and a chilled coolant. A core handling system includes a core-supporting carriage slidably supported on first rails for engagement between the core and the stations. The first rails are slidably supported on perpendicularly oriented second rails to provide for sequential alignment of the carriage with the molding and curing stations. A control system includes motor drives controlled by a programmable logic controller having a processor. Sensors communicate signals to the processor representing the position of the carriage with respect to the upper rails and the position of the upper rails with respect to the lower rails for actuation and control of the motor drives.
