    摘要： An imaging system includes two sets of cameras: a first set for capturing optical mark or optical character recognition data and a second set for capturing visual images. Full visual images of pages containing answers to open-ended questions are retained and are retrievable by a reader such that an area of interest wherein the answer is expected is displayed, but the remaining area is also available for viewing. The system permits the alignment of a page based upon edge detection if the page contains only an open-ended answer, obviating the need for timing tracks. Hardware and software elements cooperate to store the image temporarily in a server having a response time commensurate with the scanner. The image is then processed with the use of high-performance index imaging for optical storage and retrieval, and then routed to a long-term storage device.

    摘要： The present invention comprises an improved method of synthesizing oligonucleotides. The method comprises employing dinucleotides (or “dimer blocks”) as the basic synthetic unit building block. The method results in extremely high purity oligonucleotides in which the N−1 content is very low, generally less than 1-2% of the full length, N, oligonucleotide. We have found that synthesis using dinucleotide phosphorothioates results in oligonucleotides having very little phosphodiester content. Furthermore, we have found that the amount of dimer required in each coupling step can be less than about 6 and is preferably about 2 equivalents. Synthesis of oligonucleotides according to the dimer block approach described herein can also be conducted without the capping step that has heretofore been deemed necessary after each coupling.

    摘要： A vehicle seating assembly includes a seat frame member supporting a back frame member. The back frame member includes a channel section which resists deformation of the back frame member. The seat frame member is also connected to the channel member through a pivot connection. A seat belt retractor is mounted adjacent the seat frame member and in back of the lower portion of the back frame member, but is supported on a support assembly which is attached directly to the supporting pedestal so that the seat belt forces transmitted through the retractor are taken through either the back or the seat frame members. A pivot connection is provided between the pedestal and the support assembly, which is releasable to permit a rotation of the seat and back frame members relative to the pedestal.

One of the first and second cap portions is interchangeable with other caps so as to alter the performance of the shock absorber by altering the size of the gas chamber. The replaceable cap cooperates with the mount body such that it can be replaced without removing the shock absorber from a bicycle.

    摘要： A motor-pump unit, for providing pressure for a brake actuating device having a pneumatic brake booster including a pump and an electric motor driving the pump, the pump being a dual diaphragm pump having two opposed working diaphragms, each of which is clamped between a pump casing and a working chamber cover and delimits a working chamber, and moveable by a crank drive having connecting rods and bearings, the working diaphragm connected firmly to a tappet and, together with the connecting rod, in each case forming a diaphragm unit. In order to provide a low-noise motor-pump unit which is more cost-effective and requires reduced expenditure on assembly, the connecting rods are made of plastic, wherein in each case one tappet and one bearing are encapsulated with the material of the connecting rod. Alternatively, the connecting rods can be formed in one piece with the tappet and provided as sintered components.
