The operator interface system includes a start screen having fewer than five start screen buttons. The touch screen device is generally a kiosk located within a store. A products screen is linked to one of the start screen buttons and provides access to information about the plurality of products sold by the store organized into an intuitive hierarchy. A store services screen is linked to one of the start screen buttons and provides access to one or more service description screens.

    摘要: Photoresist, which contains hydrogen, is patterned over a semiconductor substrate then treated with either a molecular halogen or a liquid fluorinating agent in order to improve subsequent ion implantation. Hydrogen is replaced, to whatever extent is found desirable, with the halogen. Molecular fluorine (F2) has been found to be particularly effective as the molecular halogen. Molecular fluorine (F2) reacts very efficiently in replacing the hydrogen and further has the benefit of continuing to penetrate into the patterned photoresist so that the entire patterned photoresist layer can have the hydrogen atoms replaced with fluorine atoms if the molecular fluorine flow is continued long enough. The resulting treated photoresist is much more resistant to penetration by implanted ions so that the photoresist can be deposited to a lesser thickness. This is beneficial in shadowing problems such as can occur in halo implants and where the patterned photoresist has a high aspect ratio.

    摘要: A semiconductor device and fabrication process includes forming a gate dielectric overlying a semiconductor substrate and a gate electrode overlying the gate dielectric. The gate electrode includes an interface between a first portion of the gate electrode and a second portion of the gate electrode. A silicide is then formed overlying the gate electrode. The presence of the gate electrode interface substantially prevents the silicide from spiking into or through the gate electrode to encroach upon or contact the underlying gate dielectric. Forming the gate electrode may include forming a polysilicon first gate electrode layer and forming an amorphous silicon layer over the polysilicon first gate electrode layer. Forming the second gate electrode layer may include forming a SiGe first sublayer and a polysilicon second sublayer.

    摘要: Vehicle (4) are automatically identified using a specially constructed windshield (8) which carries identifying indicia (10). The window is a layered construction, similar to safety glass, and includes an intermediate layer (20) sandwiched between inner and outer glass layers (22, 24). The intermediate layer carries the identifying indicia, typically in a bar coded pattern. The indicia are invisible to the unaided human eye but are detectable when illuminated with a chosen electromagnetic radiation, typically infrared light from a CO.sub.2 laser. The bar coded indicia are preferably unique to the particular vehicle. Since the bar coded indicia can cover substantially an entire windshield, and since windshields are normally kept clean, sensing of the indicia is aided. The vehicle identification system thus permits the non-invasive identification of a vehicle even under adverse environmental condition.

    摘要: Assemblies of sheets of corrugated plastic board and molded plastic interlock elements providing useful products such as containers. Sheets of corrugated plastic board are interlocked with one another by means of molded plastic connector pieces or strips having receptor slots containing spaced lock ramps. The slots receive a uniform edge of a sheet of corrugated plastic which is provided with spaced slits aligned with the spaced lock ramps. Entry of the sheet edge into the connector slot causes the spaced lock ramps to compress the edge until the aligned slits pass thereover, and the "memory" of the corrugated plastic board causes the edge portion thereof, beyond the slit, to spring back to its original thickness and thereby lock the edge of the plastic board within the slot of the molded plastic connector.

    摘要: A resilient flexible pipe coupling for interconnecting two pipes of different diameters in a pressure tight manner comprises a tubular metal casing formed with a longitudinal gap and a tensioning screw device for reducing the width of the gap to tighten the coupling around the adjacent ends of the two pipes. A sealing sleeve of resilient flexible material is arranged within the casing. The sleeve has radially inwardly projecting sealing lips formed on both of its free end. The sealing lips have different radial thicknesses so as to compensate for the difference in diameters of the pipes.
