Abstract:
A fluorohydrocarbon compound of formula RF—C2H4—O—CO—RH, in which RF is a perfluorinated alkyl group and RH is an alkyl group, in and/or for the preparation of a stable emulsion containing at least one fatty phase and one aqueous phase. The invention also relates to the use of the same compound as a stabilizing agent for an emulsion containing at least one fatty phase and one aqueous phase. Another subject of the invention is the use of such a compound as an essential component of the fatty phase of an emulsion and emulsions containing such a fatty phase. Another subject of the invention is a composition comprising such an emulsion.
Abstract:
Arbutin monoesters are employed in a composition for topical application, as a depigmenting and/or bleaching agent for human skin, hair and/or head hair. The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a composition of at least one arbutin monoester in a physiologically acceptable medium for depigmenting and/or bleaching human skin, hair and/or head hair.
Abstract:
Hydroxypropyl quaternary ammonium compounds containing an ester function, in particular containing a fatty acid ester function, of formula (I): in which R denotes a branched C7-C35 alkyl chain; R1, R2 and R3 independently denote a C1-C18 alkyl chain; X− denotes a halide or another anion chosen from: in which R4 and R5 independently denote a C1-C8 alkyl chain are disclosed. Cosmetic or dermatological compositions containing these compounds, in particular haircare products in which the quaternary compounds are used as treatment agents for improving the surface condition of the hair as well as for protecting the hair under the action of atmospheric agents or mechanical or chemical treatments are disclosed.
Abstract:
The use of alkyl N-(hydroxyalkyl)carbamates in a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition provided in the form of an aqueous lotion, a gel, an emulsion, a cream, a foam or a paste.
Abstract:
At least one serine compound corresponding to the Formula I: ##STR1## in which R and R', which are identical or different, represent a linear or branched hydrocarbon radical having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms, or the D-optical isomer of Formula I, the L-optical isomer of Formula I, or a non-racemic mixture of at least two of the optical isomers; the preparation of these compounds and their use, especially in cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions intended for treating or caring for the hair or for the skin.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of 2-aminoalkane-1,3-diols by a single step reduction of alkyl 2-oximino-3-oxoalkanoates. The reduction is carried out in the presence of at least one hydride, in a solvent, under inert atmosphere and at a controlled initial temperature.Synthetic yields are markedly improved.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising as hydrating agent a compound of the alkyl N-(hydroxyalkyl)carbamate family.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an insulating construction member having top and bottom edges and interconnecting members on the top and bottom edges. The interconnecting members comprise alternating projections and recesses, the projections and recesses being of substantially the same dimension. The interconnecting members on the top and bottom edges are symmetrically arranged whereby the insulating construction member can be interconnected with a like member in a bi-directional or reversible manner.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a dipeptidic amide having the formula RCO-NHCH.sub.2 CONH-CH(CH.sub.2 OH)-COOH wherein R is an oleoyl group. The compound is useful in cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment or care of the skin.
