摘要: Polyvinyl alcohol synthetic fibers are used as reinforcing materials for hydraulically setting materials, and by selecting the aspect ratio of the polyvinyl alcohol fiber and the dispersing agent for said fiber, adequate dispersion is made possible even with the fiber of 2 denier or less, thereby a higher reinforcing effect may be achieved. The polyvinyl alcohol fiber is obtained by depositing 0.1-3.0% by weight based on the fiber of an oxidized polyethylene having an acid value of 5-150, and has a single yarn fineness of 0.5-2 denier, a length of 3-8 mm and an aspect ratio of 200-800, and the hydraulically setting material contains 0.1-4% by weight of said fiber.

摘要: A cowling assembly for an outboard motor includes an improved construction that can supply relatively cool air containing little water to the induction device and can also supply air to cool engine components without reducing the charging efficiency. The outboard motor has an engine that includes an air induction device and is enclosed within the cowling. The cowling assembly defines a closed cavity in which the engine is contained and has an air intake system. An air intake duct structure introduces air into the cavity. The intake duct structure includes a plurality of relatively narrow connection passages and has an expansion chamber portion disposed on the downstream side of the passages. Intake noise is reduced by this construction. In one preferred form, the cowling assembly additionally has a second intake system. One or more connection passages communicate with the first air intake system and the second air intake system.

摘要: A fuel supply system for use with an engine having four vertically-arranged cylinders and multiple charge formers prevents air or vapor pockets from accumulating within the fuel pump or fuel lines. A pair of fuel pumps are mounted vertically one above the other. A fuel inlet port of each pump is formed at the lower-most portion of the pump. A fuel discharge port is formed at the upper-most portion of each port. A conduit attached to the top fuel pump's discharge port supplies fuel to an uppermost and lowermost carburetor. A conduit from the lowermost fuel pump supplies fuel to the middle two carburetors. The uppermost carburetor's fuel inlet port is positioned vertically higher than the top fuel pump's discharge port. The second carburetor's fuel inlet port is positioned vertically higher than the second fuel pump's discharge port. Air or vapor pockets within the fuel lines naturally migrates through the fuel pump and through the fuel conduits into the carburetors without becoming trapped in the fuel supply system.
