摘要: A method and system of transferring messages from a message source to a mobile station in a cellular system comprises assigning to each message a priority characteristic before the message is transmitted to mobile station. The message is then transmitted together with the assigned priority characteristic, depending on the priority characteristic. The priority characteristic is examined at the mobile station and the message is processed at the mobile station depending on the priority characteristic.

摘要: An apparatus to repel non-raptorial birds and animals including but not limited to squirrels, rabbits, mice, rats, and deer from selected areas of a property. The apparatus, when placed in an area, convinces the birds and animals of the presence of a predator, a human being, and/or some other perceived threatening presence or a danger that self-motivates the birds and animals to avoid the area and prevents thus the contamination, defacing, and/or damage to the area from the bird feces or nesting and consumption and/or damage of garden plants, agricultural crops, trees, and/or shrubs by the other animals.

摘要: The present invention relates to the purification of large scale quantities of active (infectious) adenovirus and AAV, especially for use in therapeutic applications. In particular, the invention provides improved methods for contacting such viruses with suitable chromatographic materials in a fashion such that any damage to the virus, particularly to surface components thereof, resulting from contact with such chromatographic materials is minimized or eliminated. The result is the ability to rapidly and efficiently purify commercial level quantities of active (infectious) virus suitable for use in therapeutic applications, e.g. gene transfer/therapy procedures.

摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for context-sensitive error event notification. The apparatus and method include a monitor to detect an error event within a computer application, an analysis module to determine characteristics of the error event, an assembler to compose a context-sensitive message comprising a context-sensitive resource relating to the event characteristics, and a transmission module to transmit the message to a set of addressees. The context-sensitive message may include error characteristics, error-specific information from reference materials, error-specific links to related information repositories, and an error-associated search. The context-sensitive message is automatically transmitted to a set of addressees that are associated with the error event. The invention provides for faster error recovery and more effective problem resolution by automatically transmitting an error notification message that is timely, informative, and includes resources associated with the error event such that people can solve the problem.

摘要: One embodiment of the invention relates to a signal conversion system for converting an asynchronous signal to an isochronous signal to permit displaying network-delivered digital content on a television device. A computing device acts as the source or storage of digital video content. A conversion device is communicatively coupled to the computing device to receive asynchronous digital video content. Either the conversion device or the computing device identifies two or more reference markers in the asynchronous video stream and determines a clock rate from the known time interval between the two or more reference markers and the amount of video content received between the two or more reference markers. The conversion device generates an isochronous digital video stream having the video content at an interval corresponding to the clock rate. The clock rate in the isochronous signal approximates an original clock rate for the digital video stream.

摘要: A system and method of storing applications on removable memory or storage with a separate applications registry maintained on the removable memory. Upon insertion the data base on the removable memory or storage can be merged with the applications database on the computer system to form a virtual registry. Preferred embodiments of the present are directed to handheld computer devices such as calculators and personal digital assistants. Applications can be easily integrated with the computers system applications upon insertion of the memory containing the application preferably such that nothing need be stored on the computer to support those applications on the removable memory. Where there are multiple applications for a single data type, the system first associates the application most likely desired by the user to run the desired data type.
