Abstract:
A rear-wheel steering control system for a vehicle/trailer combination that adaptively changes an open-loop feed-forward command signal for different trailers or the same trailer with different configurations based only on vehicle parameters. The system includes a hand-wheel sensor for providing a hand-wheel angle signal of a hand-wheel position of the vehicle, a vehicle speed sensor for providing a vehicle speed signal of the vehicle, and a vehicle yaw rate sensor for providing a measured vehicle yaw rate signal of the vehicle. The system also determines if a vehicle yaw rate has reached a steady state and uses the steady-state yaw rate signal to calculate the rear-wheel steering command. In one embodiment, the system updates feed-forward rear/front values for a plurality of predetermined vehicle speeds when determining the proper rear-wheel steering command.

A vehicle steering control system for a vehicle/trailer combination that provides rear-wheel steering assist to improve the vehicle/trailer combination stability and handling performance. The control system provides an open-loop feed-forward control signal based on hand-wheel angle and vehicle speed. The control system includes a vehicle yaw rate command interpreter that provides a vehicle closed-loop feedback control signal based on the yaw rate of the vehicle, a trailer yaw rate command interpreter that provides a trailer closed-loop feedback control signal based on the yaw rate of the trailer, and a vehicle lateral acceleration command interpreter that provides a closed-loop feedback control signal based on the lateral acceleration of the vehicle. The closed-loop feedback signals are added together and then combined with the open-loop feed-forward control signal to provide the rear-wheel steering assist.

Methods of fabricating a semiconductor device including a dual-hybrid liner in which an underlying silicide layer is protected from photoresist stripping chemicals by using a hard mask as a pattern during etching, rather than using a photoresist. The hard mask prevents exposure of a silicide layer to photoresist stripping chemicals and provides very good lateral dimension control such that the two nitride liners are well aligned.

A method for multi-model biometric identification and a system thereof are provided. The method for performing multi-model biometric identification by using a plurality of single biometric identification systems includes: receiving from the single biometric identification system a single biometric comparison value generated by comparing biometric information of a user for whom an identity confirmation request is received, with biometric information of previously registered users; with the single biometric comparison value, generating a comparison value vector for each registered user; in relation to each of registered users, verifying whether or not the comparison value vector is generated by comparison of an identical person and generating a determined value; and by using the determined value, generating a candidate list listing in a predetermined order, users who have highest probabilities of being the user who wants to be identified. Accordingly, by using a variety of biometric characteristics, more accurate identification of a user is enabled.

A complex type cleaner comprises: a body having either a dust collecting container for storing dust or a water collecting container for storing contaminated water; a fan motor installed at the body and generating a suction force; a suction head arranged at a lower side of the body, for sucking dust at the time of performing a vacuum-cleaning; a water tank mounted at the suction head, for storing cleaning water to be sprayed to a region to be cleaned at the time of performing a water-cleaning; and a suction nozzle integrally formed at the water tank, for sucking water contaminated after completing the water cleaning. The complex type cleaner reduces the number of components, reduces a fabrication cost, and has a water tank of a large capacity.

The invention pertains to an Internet conference call bridge management (ICCBM) system and method with which a person (customer) having access to the Internet may efficiently input the contact number of at least one party (call recipient) with whom the customer wants to speak. The ICCBM system then calls the customer, calls the party or parties, and the audio signals are bridged in a manner that optimizes the call signal to noise ratio, minimizes demands placed on computing resources, and provides controls with which the customer may monitor and control the telephonic access of the other participants through the duration of the conference call.

An optical pickup apparatus having laser light sources emit a first light beam having a relatively shorter wavelength for a DVD and a second light beam having a longer wavelength for a CD-R, an objective lens having a focal length of an information recording surface in the DVD, an optical path control unit controls the light beams so that the light beam emitted from one of the laser light sources is directed to the objective lens and the light output from the objective lens is directed to the optical detection unit, and a phase shift unit between the optical path control unit and the objective lens and which shifts a phase of the second light to reduce the size of a beam spot which is formed the information recording surface in the CD-R.

A process for making a plurality of leadless packages is disclosed. Firstly, chips are attached onto a lead frame with a first metal layer formed thereon. Each lead of the lead frame has a first portion, a second portion and a third portion connecting the first portion and the second portion, wherein the first metal layer is not provided on the third portion. After a wire bonding step and an encapsulating step are conducted, a second metal layer is selectively plated on the first portions and the second portions of the leads and the die pads exposed from the bottom of the molded product. Then, the third portion of each lead is selectively etched away such that the first portion and the second portion are electrically isolated from each other. Finally, a singulation step is conducted to complete the process. The present invention further provides a new lead frame design.

Provided are an apparatus and method using large-area organic vapor phase deposition for formation of organic thin films and organic devices. The apparatus includes a deposition part and a source part. The deposition part includes a process chamber; a substrate holder installed in the process chamber for supporting a loaded substrate; a substrate temperature controller installed in the substrate holder for controlling the temperature of the substrate; and a shower head installed opposite the substrate holder in the process chamber for uniformly distributing onto the substrate organic source vapors to be used for a deposition reaction. The source part includes a source chamber for generating organic source vapors to be supplied to the shower head; a source heater which surrounds the source chamber and allows organic materials to evaporate to be organic source vapors in the source chamber; and a transfer gas supply source for supplying transfer gas that is used to transfer the organic source vapors to the process chamber.
