摘要: A pocket-size self-heating massage stone includes a first receptacle having a rim portion, an interior recess and being made of ceramic slip, porcelain or stoneware slip and a second receptacle having a rim portion, an interior recess and being made of ceramic slip, porcelain or stoneware slip. A heating element is arranged in the interior recess of the second receptacle and being positioned in direct contact to transmit heat directly to a surface of the second receptacle such that the heating element only directly heats the second receptacle and does not directly heat the first receptacle. A rechargeable battery is disposed within the massage stone. The first and second receptacles are connected to one another via only the rim portions and the interior recesses of the first and second receptacles are free of connectors which connect together the first and second receptacles.

摘要: A portable thermal therapeutic apparatus, adapted to transfer heat between a creature and the atmosphere by circulating heat transfer fluid within a conduit held in contact with the creature. The apparatus includes a housing with a support structure that is particularly adapted for portable use. A heat pump is disposed within the housing, and operates to transfer heat between a first portion and a manifold. A heat sink is thermally coupled to the first portion, and transfers heat between the first portion and the atmosphere. A pump is disposed within the housing and circulates the fluid through the manifold and the conduit. A power supply is disposed within the housing and drives the pump, thereby causing the fluid to circulate within the manifold and the conduit. The power supply is also provides direct current to the heat pump, thereby causing heat to flow from the manifold to the first portion.

摘要: A breathable electrical heater element for a topical application device such as a wound dressing or a therapeutic heating pad is disclosed. The heater element is formed by photochemically etching a track pattern onto a porous metallised fabric (e.g. nickel coated woven polyester). The heater element has a skin or wound contact layer laminated to the front face of the heater element. An adhesive layer is laminated to the back face of the heater element. The adhesive layer forms an overhang to provide an adhesive border around the wound contact layer to adhere the device to the skin of a patient. Therapeutically active drugs (optionally microencapsulated) may be incorporated into the skin or wound contact layer. Operation of the heater element causes the skin or wound contact layer to release the active drugs to the skin or wound of the patient. Appropriate control of the temperature of the heater element allows control of the release of the active drugs.

摘要: A compact and highly efficient intravenous fluid heater includes a heat exchanger assembly, sensors for sensing respective temperatures of entering and exiting fluids of the flow path, a controller for controlling the heat generated by the heat exchanger assembly, based upon the temperatures of the exiting fluids, heating of the fluid in the flow path by the heating element so as to cause the fluid in the flow path to be substantially uniformly heated to a desired infusion temperature prior to exiting the heater. The heat exchanger assembly uses thin film heating elements having a predetermined set temperature and that transfers heat directly to a standard intravenous tube coil wrapped around the battery housing. The intravenous fluid heater is located in a housing with the intravenous fluid lines extending there from for standard connection with an intravenous line or source of intravenous fluid.

摘要: The earmuff of the present invention comprises in combination: an adjustable temperature switch, location of a power supply such as a battery inside the earmuff housing, a top frame enhanced to provide a “head gripping” feature, earmuff pads constructed to conform to the ears that are not flat but have some concavity to assist in wearer's comfort and use when moving around. The inner muff is constructed of a soft-foam and further includes a slot that enables the concurrent use of ear phones. The heating element is a plate designed to conserve battery current with adjustable temperature and a circuit design focused on conserving battery current. The plastic frame provides a head gripping feature designed to eliminate unnecessary weight and to maximize air flow that will prevent sweat and moisture buildup around the ears.
