摘要: An image-retransfer sheet for receiving an image and for retransferring the received image onto a desired image-receiving material. The image-retransfer sheet includes a substrate and a surface layer formed of surface treating agent and coated on one surface of the substrate for defining an image-receiving surface. The surface layer is provided with adhesive force control matter for controlling adhesive force to be imparted from the image-receiving surface of the surface layer. The adhesive force control matter may be provided on the surface layer in the form of a layer coated on the surface layer. Or otherwise, the adhesive force control matter may include polyethylene fine powders mixed with the surface treating agent in the surface layer. The adhesive force control matter thus provided in the image-retransfer sheet serves to control the adhesive force to such a value that only a part of the surface layer receiving the image thereon may be retransferred onto the image-receiving material together with the image.

摘要: A thermal transfer printing method including the steps of: forming first an image on an intermediate transfer drum by heating a meltable-type thermal transfer ink sheet with a thermal head; and transferring the image formed on the intermediate transfer drum onto an image receptor, wherein the meltable-type thermal transfer ink sheet and the image receptor are fed at a velocity V.sub.1 and a velocity V.sub.3, respectively and the intermediate transfer drum rotates at a peripheral velocity V.sub.3, the velocities V.sub.1, V.sub.2 and V.sub.3 satisfying the equations (1), (2) and (3): (1) N.sub.1 =V.sub.2 /V.sub.1 =1 to 10, (2) N.sub.2 =V.sub.3 /V.sub.2 =1 to 10, and (3) N.sub.3 =V.sub.3 /V.sub.1 .gtoreq.2. With such a method, the amount of ink sheet to be consumed can be substantially reduced, and the printing velocity can be increased, while at the same time a printing device for use in this method can be scaled down.

摘要: An image is permanently printed on an object having a synthetic component by capturing the image, printing the image by means of sublimation ink onto a medium, with the image then transferred from the medium to the object by applying sufficient heat to the medium to sublimate the ink, causing the ink to permanently bond to the object in the desired image. The sublimation ink is transferred to the medium by a printer from a ribbon, and/or by a means having a wax component which will bond the sublimation ink to the medium in precisely the desired design, yielding excellent resolution and bright, vivid colors in the final printing of the image.

摘要: A thermal transfer ink medium including a heat resistant support layer having an ink layer thereon and an ink transfer layer or film on the ink layer is provided. Printing is performed by applying thermal energy to selected portions of the thermal transfer ink medium in accordance with image signals. The ink transfer layer and selected portions of the ink layer are transferred to a transfer medium by selective activation of the ink layer. By providing the ink transfer layer, the ink is maintained as a cohesive body and transfer is not affected by the surface roughness of the transfer medium.
