Abstract: In general, techniques are described for steering data traffic for a subscriber session from a network interface of a wireless access gateway to an anchoring one of a plurality of forwarding units of the wireless access gateway using a layer 2 (L2) address of the data traffic. For example, a wireless access gateway for a wireless local area network (WLAN) access network is described as having a decentralized data plane that includes multiple forwarding units for implementing subscriber sessions. Each forwarding unit may present a network interface for sending and receiving network packets and includes packet processing capabilities to enable subscriber data packet processing to perform the functionality of the wireless access gateway. The techniques enable steering data traffic for a given subscriber session to a particular one of the forwarding units of the wireless access gateway using an L2 address of the data traffic.

Abstract: In one embodiment a method includes receiving a packet including a destination media access control (MAC) address field having a MAC address of a hypervisor and a destination Internet protocol (IP) address field having an IP address of a virtual machine (VM) coupled to the hypervisor. The method further determines a MAC address of the VM using the IP address of the VM and applies the VM MAC address to the destination MAC address field of the packet to forward the packet to the VM.

Abstract: A method and system for updating physical location data associated with a VoIP endpoint device is implemented in a variety of embodiments. In one such embodiment, a VoIP endpoint device stores an identifier for a packet-communicating device which is subject to changing. The VoIP endpoint device has an interface for communication over the Internet via the packet-communicating device and uses a circuit-implemented method for prompting a VoIP user to update physical location data associated with the VoIP endpoint device. In response to a power state transition and a change in the stored identifier, the VoIP endpoint device facilitates an update to the physical location data associated with the VoIP service.

Abstract: A communication system includes a control device configured to calculate a packet forwarding path and set a flow based on the packet forwarding path in a node, and a plurality of nodes configured to forward a received packet based on a flow set by the control device. The control device, when receiving a detour instruction, calculates a new packet forwarding path which detours a detour target node and sets a flow based on the new packet forwarding path in the plurality of nodes on the new packet forwarding path.

Abstract: In an example, a VTEP device may store first routing information acquired by the VTEP device, wherein the first routing information may be routing information of a host device connected with the VTEP device. The VTEP stores second routing information sent from other VTEP devices in a VXLAN, wherein the second routing information may be routing information of a host device connected with the other VTEP devices. The VTEP receives an address resolution request from a source host device, wherein the address resolution request comprises an IP address of a target host device, and a VXLAN identifier of a VXLAN to which the target host device belongs. and in response to a determination that routing information of the target host device may be stored locally, the VTEP sends an address resolution response comprising a MAC address of the target host device to the source host device.

Abstract: A plurality of network nodes are configured to form a virtual logical network over a plurality of broadcast domains. Configuring the virtual logical network includes configuring at least one of the nodes in the plurality of nodes to broadcast routes to IP addresses hosted on nodes in the plurality of network nodes between nodes in the plurality of broadcast domains.
