    Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for remote contextual access to an operating system desktop are provided. Example embodiments provide a desktop state agent the harvests information from a user's desktop regarding state of various objects such as open documents, recent documents, links, shared links, bookmarks, upcoming events, and/or recent emails. The harvested information is translated to html or other web browser recognized language where possible and uploaded to be accessible to a web server configured to respond to requests for desktop state using a web address. In one embodiment, the RCAS allows access to a user's desktop transparently—without the user needing to take explicit action. Further, a remote mobile device can render the desktop data without using a session or connection to the user's desktop machine and without use of a remote desktop protocol.

    Abstract: According to the present invention, an information processing apparatus is provided, which comprises a unit which acquires the requested resource, a unit which stores a history of the resource, a unit which causes a display unit to display a screen that is based on the acquired resource and includes an input portion for receiving an input of a return instruction instructing that an immediately previous screen be returned to, and a unit which determines whether the immediately previous screen is a screen that is based on a resource stored in the history, and if the screen is not based thereon, transmits a message indicating that the return instruction has been made to a unit that has instructed the request of the resource, and if not, returns the screen to an immediately previous screen according to the history.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for supporting active link status during LAN interface reset and reconfigurations. Under one aspect, during normal operations traffic is transmitted over an Ethernet link coupling a first link partner to a second link partner. In response to a network interface re-configuration event, transmission of traffic over the Ethernet link is paused while keeping the Physical layer (PHY) of the Ethernet link active. The configuration of the first link partner is updated while the transmission of traffic is paused and the PHY of the Ethernet link is active. Upon completion of the configuration update, the link partners resume transmission of traffic over the Ethernet link. Additional schemes are provided that support re-configuration of network interfaces that support link and per priority flow control. According to another aspect, separate power domains are used for the PHY and the MAC circuitry, enabling the MAC circuitry to be reset via a power cycle while maintaining power to the PHY circuitry.

    Abstract: A system and process are provided for remotely viewing a customer screen image and interacting with the customer's device (desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone) using a standard web browser. In operation, an agent is provided with an account on a server, and can send a link and/or instructions to the customer to provide the agent with access to the customer device. An application installed on the customer device captures image frames to be shared and divides them into subsections, transmitting to the server only those sections that have changed relative to the previously transmitted frame. The agent's browser retrieves tiles from the server as they change, and displays them for the agent. The system and process enable the agent to obtain system information and remotely control various functions of the customer device when authorized by the customer.
