Abstract: An electronic device comprising circuitry that controls transmitting signals through a first communication link toward a base station or a second communication link toward a mobile station. The second communication link uses an uplink resource of the first communication link. The circuity determines transmission power for the second communication link based on a first parameter and a second parameter. The first parameter indicates a signal level, a power level, or a noise level in the first communication link. The second parameter corresponds to path loss information for the first communication link.

Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to a method and apparatus for wireless charging station with adaptive radio interference detection and control. During wireless charging of a smart device, the harmonics associated with the magnetic resonance coupling between the power transmission unit (PTU) and the power receiving unit (PRU) may interfere with radio communication if PRU engages in radio messaging. The disclosed embodiments provide method and system for identifying interference and adapting the wireless charging power to reduce or eliminate interference while efficiently charging the PRU.

Abstract: Providing for interference reduction and/or avoidance utilizing backhaul signaling between wireless access points (APs) of a wireless access network (AN) is described herein. By way of example, an interference avoidance request (IAR) can be issued by an AP to reduce signal interference on forward link (FL) and/or downlink (DL) transmissions by neighboring APs. The IAR can be routed via a backhaul network and/or over-the-air via access terminals (ATs) coupled with the AP or one or more interfering APs. Upon receiving the IAR, an interfering AP can determine reduced transmit power levels for FL and/or RL transmissions and respond to the IAR. The response can include reduced power levels and can be sent via the backhaul network or OTA. By employing the backhaul network in full or in part, interference avoidance can be conducted even for semi-planned or unplanned heterogeneous networks coupled by the backhaul.

Abstract: A method that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, analyzing a signal to identify a present interference and extracting the interference from the signal. The extracting can include comparing a presence time for the interference with a reference time; if the presence time exceeds the reference time and at least one of a plurality of filters is available for filtering the present interference, an available filter of the plurality of filters is activated, thereby causing filtering of the interference from the signal. If no filter is available due to activation of the filters for filtering a plurality of previously identified interferences, a priority order is determined for the present interference and the previously identified interferences, based on their interference signal levels. The filters are assigned to the interferences in accordance with the priority order. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Interference on a first wireless radio caused by operation of a second wireless radio in the same device may be reduced by reducing the transmission power of the second wireless radio. Signal strength data associated with the first wireless radio and isolation values associated with antennae used by the second wireless radio may be used to determine a target change in transmission power of the second wireless radio that would eliminate interference with the first wireless radio. Signal strength data associated with the second wireless radio and threshold data indicative of minimum signal strengths to maintain a threshold level of quality for the second wireless radio may be used to determine a maximum change in transmission power. The transmission power of the second wireless radio may be reduced by the lesser of the target amount or maximum amount.

Abstract: A method of determining a carrier power in a communications system including a processor includes a) setting a power differential between a reference carrier and one or more carriers, b) measuring a number of satisfied users at the power differential, and c) measuring a capacity for the satisfied users at the power differential. The method also includes d) increasing the power differential by a predetermined amount and e) determining, using the processor, that the number of satisfied users at the increased power differential is greater than or equal to the number of satisfied users at the power differential. The method further includes f) repeating a)-c) and g) setting the carrier power at an iterated power level.
