    摘要: An electrostatic air cleaner may include a corona charging stage, a precipitation stage, and an air mover (fan). The corona charging stage may include a first and second array placed under electrical potential difference capable of generating a corona discharge. The first array may be substantially parallel corona wires and may be located downstream of an air penetrable second array. The precipitation stage may be downstream from the corona charging stage. The spacing between the first array and the second array may be less than the distance of the precipitation stage to the second array. The air mover may be upstream of the corona charging stage or downstream of the precipitation stage or between these stages. The arrangement allows for higher ion output downstream of the first array with the same voltage and power consumption resulting in greater particle charging and better air cleaning efficiency.

    摘要: A discharge electrode with equal or better performance to conventional discharge electrodes, but at significantly lower cost uses carbon fiber composite tapes suspended around support rings attached to a support at the top and a bias at the bottom. The tape is in a loop and extends around the support rings, causing the rings to be pulled apart in tension by the bias to keep the tape taut. The tape, and preferably the top ring, and alternatively the lower ring, are conductively connected to a power supply.

    摘要: An electrostatic filter assembly configured to be installed in equipment for removing particulate matter entrained within a gas stream. The filter assembly functions in the removal and collection of the particulate matter from the gas stream. The equipment for removing particulate matter includes a high voltage discharge electrode for imparting an electric charge to the particulate matter whereby an electrical field is produced at the filter assembly. The filter assembly includes a filter element and a supporting structure for the filter element. The supporting structure is configured to establish at the filter assembly, under the operating conditions of the equipment for removing particulate matter, an electrical field having an intensity that produces no more than a selected amount of degradation at the filter element during operation of the equipment for removing particulate matter. Also a method of manufacturing such an electrostatic filter assembly.

    摘要: Abstract of the DisclosureMethod and apparatus for treating a gas flow including guiding the gas flow through a gas treatment unit (18) adapted for filtering particles in the gas flow, and eliminating the particles in the gas treatment unit (18). Particles are filtered from the gas flow by means of accumulating the particles in, or in connection with, a number of ducts (21) forming part of the gas treatment unit (21) during passage of the gas flow through the gas treatment unit (18). The temperature of the gas flow is controlled along the ducts (21) to a value that provides combustion of the particles, and eliminates the filtered particles in the gas treatment unit (18) by means of combustion in the ducts (21). An improved treatment of a gas flow is provided, in particular in connection with exhaust gas purification in a diesel engine, for eliminating particles in its exhaust gases.
