    Abstract: A stabilizer including: a main body for generating an elastic restoring force; and connecting portions formed on both ends of the main body and respectively connected to left and right suspension devices. Hardness of the connecting portions is lower than that of the main body. A method for manufacturing the stabilizer includes, in order, an entire body heat treatment process for heat treating an entire stabilizer and increasing hardness of the entire stabilizer, and a connecting portion softening process for heating the connecting portions and reducing the hardness of the connecting portions. The method for manufacturing the stabilizer thereby increases hardness of the main body and reduces the hardness of the connecting portions lower than that of the main body.

    Abstract: A heater unit having high in-plane temperature uniformity is provided. A heater unit includes a first heater part, a second heater part controlled independently of the first heater part, a base arranged with a groove in a region between the first heater part and the second heater part, and a cover part arranged at an opening end of the groove and providing a closed space with the groove. In addition, an insulating layer covering the first heater part and the second heater part, and an electrostatic chuck attached to the base via the insulating layer may be further included. In addition, the closed space provided by the cover part and the groove may be a vacuum.

    Abstract: A substrate support device formed of a metal and having a high withstand voltage and a high thermal resistance is provided. A substrate support device according to the present invention includes a plate section formed of a metal; a shaft section connected to the plate section and formed of a metal; a heating element provided in the plate section; and an insulating film formed on a first surface of the plate section, the first surface opposite to the shaft section, by ceramic thermal spraying. The substrate support device may further include an insulating film formed on a second surface of the plate section which intersects the first surface of the plate section approximately perpendicularly.

    Abstract: This ball joint is provided with: a ball stud, one end being fastened to a suspension device/stabilizer, and the other end having a ball part; a housing that rotatably supports the ball part of the ball stud; and a ball seat provided so as to be interposed between the housing and the ball part, the ball seat having an inner spherical part for accommodating the ball part. The ball seat is provided to the housing by insert injection molding. The inside diameter dimension of the inner spherical part formed by separate injection molding is set to a dimension corresponding to the anticipated amount of molding shrinkage of the resin during the insert injection molding.

    Abstract: A terminal sealed portion is formed on an end portion of a hollow rod made of steel. An enclosed space is formed on an inner side of the hollow rod. At an end of the enclosed space, a terminal gap is formed. A volatile powdered rust inhibitor is supplied in the enclosed space. As the volatile powdered rust inhibitor is vaporized, the enclosed space is turned into a rust-inhibiting atmosphere. As the vaporized component of the volatile powdered rust inhibitor is adsorbed to an inner surface of the enclosed space, an inner surface rust-inhibiting film is formed. The vaporized component also enters inside the terminal gap, and forms a terminal rust-inhibiting film.

    Abstract: On an end portion of a hollow rod, which is a material of a hollow coil spring, a terminal sealed portion is formed. The terminal sealed portion has a rotationally symmetric shape in which an axis passing through the center of the rod is a symmetric axis. The terminal sealed portion includes an end wall portion, and a distal-end-center closure portion formed on the axis. In the distal-end-center closure portion, a distal end opening portion of the spin-formed rod is joined together and formed as an integral part. On the axis at the inner surface of the end wall portion, a recess having a rotationally symmetric shape in which the axis is the symmetric axis is formed. A thickness of the recess of the end wall portion is reduced toward the axis.

    Abstract: As first-time laser irradiation is performed on a workpiece, an initial nugget is formed. By emitting a laser beam for the second time at the initial nugget, a diameter of a back-side nugget portion is increased. A nugget includes a front-side nugget portion formed in a first plate, the back-side nugget portion formed in a second plate, and an annular flat surface portion. The flat surface portion is along a boundary portion between the first plate and the second plate. In a thicknesswise cross section of the second plate, a tilt angle of a peripheral surface of the back-side nugget portion is increased as a thicknesswise position of the peripheral surface approximates to a rear face of the second plate.
