Abstract:
A computer-implemented method for management of voicemail messages, performed at a portable electronic device with a touch screen display, includes: displaying a list of voicemail messages; detecting selection by a user of a respective voicemail message in the list; responding to the user selection of the respective voicemail message by initiating playback of the user-selected voicemail message; displaying a progress bar for the user-selected voicemail message, wherein the progress bar indicates the portion of the user-selected voicemail message that has been played; detecting movement of a finger of the user from a first position on the progress bar to a second position on the progress bar; and responding to the detection of the finger movement by restarting playback of the user-selected voicemail message at a position within the user-selected voicemail message corresponding substantially to the second position on the progress bar.

A magnetizer for magnetizing permanent magnets positioned in-situ a mechanical member is disclosed. The magnetizer comprises at least one primary superconducting coil configured to project a magnetic field flux configuration of a first type to at least a portion of a distal volume of a first type, and at least two auxiliary coils symmetrically disposed about the at least one primary superconducting coil and configured to project magnetic field flux configurations of a second type to at least a portion of a distal volume of a second type. A method of magnetizing a permanent magnet in-situ within a mechanical member is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for generating a softened injection water comprising: (A) generating the softened injection water by (i) introducing a source water having a total dissolved solids content of up to 15,000 mg/litre and having a multivalent cation content of greater than 40 mg/litre to a vessel that contains a bed of a cation exchange resin in its monovalent cation form, (ii) passing the source water through the cation exchange resin bed so that at least a portion of the multivalent cations in the source water are replaced by monovalent cations from the cation exchange resin, and (iii) withdrawing from the vessel the softened injection water having a multivalent cation content of up to 40 mg/litre; (B) regenerating the cation exchange resin by (i) introducing a regenerating brine to the vessel, (ii) passing the regenerating brine through the resin bed and (iii) withdrawing from the vessel a brine containing displaced multivalent cations, wherein the regenerating brine is a naturally occurring high salinity water having a concentration of monovalent cations and of multivalent cations such that the Softening Limit for the source water is up to 40 mg/litre of multivalent cations wherein the Softening Limit for the source water is defined as the Softening Ratio multiplied by the concentration of multivalent cations in the source water (mg/litre) and wherein the Softening Ratio is defined as: (molar concentration of monovalent cations in the source water)2/(molar concentration of multivalent cations in the source water):(molar concentration of monovalent cations in the regenerating brine)2/(molar concentration of multivalent cations in the regenerating brine).

Abstract:
A system for determining a temperature of a permanent magnet in a machine includes a voltage sensor that generates a voltage signal reflective of a stator voltage and a current sensor that generates a current signal reflective of a stator current. A processor receives the voltage and current signals and generates a temperature signal reflective of the temperature of the permanent magnet in the machine. A method for controlling a load of a machine includes generating a voltage signal, a current signal, and a temperature signal reflective of the temperature of a permanent magnet in the machine. The method further includes adjusting the load of the machine based on the temperature signal.
