    摘要: Systems and methods of pre-allocating identifiers to wireless devices for use in requesting resources over a random access channel are described. A wireless communication system includes a random access channel over which wireless devices can anonymously send requests for resources. The base stations receiving and processing the anonymous requests reduces the probability of random access channel collisions and conserves the resources needed to support the anonymous requests by pre-allocating one or more codes to select wireless devices. The wireless devices having the pre-allocated codes can transmit a particular code over the random access channel as a request for resources that uniquely identifies the requester.

    摘要: Data packets of multiple different protocols are transmitted over a broadband wireless air interface between network stations subscribing to the broadband wireless access service. A first network station receives data packets of different network protocols in an upper layer for transmission to a second station over the wireless air interface. The different protocol data packets are processed in the upper layer to look up a destination address and class of service, and are transmitted to a single generic packet convergence sublayer along with an identification tag indicating the destination address and class of service. The generic packet convergence sublayer maps the identification tag to a single connection ID (CID) of a second station of the broadband wireless access service, without having to carry out any packet inspection.

    摘要: A circuit and method for receiving data signals over a data signal line are disclosed. In one embodiment, a receiver circuit is provided for receiving data signals transmitted over a signal line. The receiver circuit comprises an inverter circuit having an input that forms an input of the receiver circuit and an output coupled to an internal node, an output circuit having an input coupled to the internal node and an output that provides an output of the receiver circuit, and a charge adding circuit that provides at least a portion of a temporary logic transition at the input of the receiver circuit, induced by a logic transition on an adjacent signal line, to the internal node to mitigate erroneous logic transitions associated with the receiver circuit.

    摘要: An anti-ferromagnetically coupled, granular-continuous (“AFC-GC”) magnetic recording medium having increased thermal stability, writability, and signal-to-medium noise ratio (“SMNR”), comprising a layer stack including, in sequence from a surface of a non-magnetic substrate: (a) a continuous ferromagnetic stabilizing layer; (b) a non-magnetic spacer layer; and (c) a granular ferromagnetic recording layer; wherein: (i) the continuous ferromagnetic stabilizing and granular ferromagnetic recording layers are anti-ferromagnetically coupled across the non-magnetic spacer layer, the amount of anti-ferromagnetic coupling preselected to ensure magnetic relaxation after writing; (ii) lateral interactions in the granular, ferromagnetic recording layer are substantially completely eliminated or suppressed; and (iii) the exchange coupling strength in the continuous, ferromagnetic stabilizing layer is preselected to be slightly larger than the strength of the anti-ferromagnetic coupling provided by the non-magnetic spacer layer to thereby enhance thermal stability of the recording bits.
