摘要： A VCR for performing a high-speed searching process includes: a video signal input for outputting a video signal sent from a plurality of photographing sections; an encoder for encoding channel information and time information relative to the video signal, and for adding the encoded information to the vertical blanking interval of the video signal; a recording/reproducing section for recording the signal composed by the encoder and reproducing the recorded video signal; a decoder for extracting the channel information and time information inserted by the encoder from video signals outputted from the reproducing section, and for decoding them; a controller for inverting a control pulse at predetermined time intervals when the video signal is recorded to record a point in time within the predetermined time intervals, for searching the recorded point in time within the predetermined time intervals in a high-speed mode based on the channel information and time information transmitted from the decoder when automatic searching is performed during reproduction, and for converting the mode of the VCR into a standard mode, starting from the searched point in time, when a desired point in time has been searched; and a video signal output for externally outputting the video signal sent from the reproducing section.

A moving image is recorded together with attribute information therefor. Division points at which the moving image breaks on a time base are detected, and the moving image is divided at the detected division points into scenes. The scenes into which the moving image is divided at the detected division points are joined to limit the number of scenes to not more than a predetermined value if the number of the scenes into which the moving image is divided exceeds the predetermined value. Still images are created from respective ones of the scenes the number of which has been limited, and the created still images are recorded as the attribute information.

Each selection list has addresses of inside information of the image information recorded on the disc, one or more selection numbers, and their corresponding selection lists. The address list has selection list identification numbers and addresses corresponding to the selection list identification numbers. During the regular playback operation—playing back the image information recorded on the disc—when a user gives an instruction of selecting outside information, the user can get the address of the outside information from the now used selection list by retrieving the address list.

In this video record/playback apparatus, a key input unit is used for inputting at least one user rating code and a program rating code corresponding to the videogram. A recording/reproduction unit records the input program rating code on the video recording medium and reproduces the video recording medium. A rating code insertion/separation unit inserts the program rating code into the videogram to be recorded on the video recording medium and separates the program rating code from the video signal supplied from the recording/reproduction unit. A storage unit stores the input at least one user rating code. A controller compares the program rating code from the recording/reproduction unit with the stored at least one user rating code and controls the operation of the recording/reproduction unit to perform a playback operation of the video recording medium according to the comparison result.
