Abstract: The disclosure provides a cell freezing and storage bag assembly and a method for using the assembly in banking eukaryotic cells for later seed train expansion. The bag is constructed principally of fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) fabric, and is designed to be filled such that the cell suspension has a very thin cross-section. The bag design includes at least an inlet conduit and an outlet or inoculation conduit, which can be sterilely welded to the source of the eukaryotic cells. The use of at least two sterile-weldable conduits allows for “closed system” filling of the bags, which significantly reduces the risk of contamination relative to other cell-banking methods. The bag also include a sleeve, which can be thermo-welded to form an enclosure, which protects the inlet and outlet conduits against contamination and mechanical damage during freezing, storage and subsequent thawing. In the method, once each bag is filled, its corresponding inlet conduit is sealed, and both the inlet and outlet conduits are enclosed within the bag's sleeve. This closed system method obviates the need for sterile environments (e.g. laminar flow unit).

Abstract: The application discloses a multi-chamber, multi-formulation fluid delivery system, comprising a multi-chamber applicator in fluid communication with multi-chamber packaging. Applicators according to the instant disclosure have reduced squeeze-strength requirements, and are useful for dispensing fluids, including medicaments, to animals, including livestock animals. The multi-chamber packaging provides separate storage for formulations containing incompatible active ingredients, and is suitable for use with the multi-chamber applicator. The application also discloses methods for using the system to simultaneously deliver multiple active ingredients, at least some of which are not suitable for co-formulation, thus reducing the time, economic burden and animal stress involved with applying multiple, separate formulations to animals.

Abstract: The present invention encompasses a vaccine composition and method of use for treating heartworm infestation in mammals. The vaccine composition includes chimeric antigens engineered and manufactured using the genetic code (i.e., the amino acid or protein sequence) of the target sequence. After introduction of the vaccine composition containing the target antigen into the host (e.g., a canine), the host will generate antibodies as part of its robust immune response to the antigen. As the antibodies circulate through the host's plasma, heartworm larvae will consume the antibodies as they feed on the plasma. The antibodies will then act on internal targets of the worm recognized as antigens.

Abstract: The invention is a pour-on antiparasitic formulation having superior water resistant properties. The pour-on formulation utilizes one or more polymers (water insoluble with or without water soluble) in the range of about 5 to about 40% w/w, one or more solvents in the range of about 50 to about 94% w/w, with or without additive (e.g., isopropanol or ethanol) in the range of about 5 to about 30% w/w, and optionally a plasticizer in the range of about 0.5 to about 25% w/w. The pour-on antiparasitic formulation features limited spreading when applied to animals (cattle, sheep, dogs and the like). The pour-on antiparasitic formulation further partially evaporates, leaving a water resistant polymer matrix that diffuses at least one active ingredient to the animal's skin.
