Abstract:
An optic device with a variable operating mode comprises a micromirror which can be obscured by means of an electrostatically controlled microshutter. In the operating condition of the microshutter, the petal of this adheres over a substrate to allow a beam of light to reach the mirror. In the condition at rest, the petal is curled up and one of its surfaces receives the beam of light and reflects it in all directions, at the same time preventing this from reaching the mirror.
Abstract:
A fuel injector has an injector body extending along a given axis; a tubular valve body housed inside a hole in the injector body and coaxial with the injector body; and an annular chamber defined by the injector body and the valve body. The method of producing the injector includes connecting the valve body to the injector body, and fixing the valve body in a given position along the axis with respect to the injector body by means of a driving operation to interference fit the valve body inside the hole in the injector body.
Abstract:
A safety valve for pressurized tanks, particularly for tanks for containing methane or LPG for motor vehicles, comprises an open/close element that is kept by elastic means in a closing position, in which it does not enable communication of the internal cavity of the tank with the external atmosphere. When a pre-set maximum value of the pressure inside the tank is exceeded, sufficient for overcoming the load of said elastic means, the open/close element is displaced from its closing position and enables discharge of the gas contained in the tank into the external atmosphere. The elastic means are arranged in series with a fuse element, which is set between the open/close element and the valve body. In this way, whenever the temperature -exceeds a pre-set maximum value, the fuse element melts, causing unloading of said elastic means, which consequently leaves the open/close element free to open. Preferably, associated to the open/close element are sensor means for detecting the displacement of the open/close element from its closing position, which are designed to signal intervention of the safety valve to the driver.
Abstract:
A display arrangement for a vehicle instrument panel comprises a wearable support structure on which is disposed a transparent screen positioned in front of an eye of an user to permit part of the background to be seen through this screen; a virtual image generator disposed on the support to generate a virtual image and present it to the user's eyes at a predetermined distance and superimposed over the scene visible through the transparent screen; a device for detecting the position and orientation of the user's head; and a processor connected to vehicle control systems to provide the virtual image generator with a video signal containing information to deliver to the user on the basis of system signals provided by the control systems in such a way that the virtual image generator generates virtual visual information superimposed over the background in predetermined regions of the field of view. The visual information is fixedly located in relation to a frame of reference on the basis of a signal provided by the detection device.
Abstract:
A device for controlling the flow of a fluid in one or more conduits in an electrical appliance, particularly in a dishwasher machine, comprises at least a control member, movable between two or more positions, and shape memory actuator means of said control member.
Abstract:
A method for making three-dimensional structures of nanometric or micrometric dimensions comprises the following steps: obtaining of a photopolymeric or UV mixture including nanoparticles orientable in space; deposition of a layer of the mixture on a respective substrate; exposure of the layer to UV-radiation and control of the polymerization of the mixture by means of variation of its index of refraction; application of a magnetic and/or electrical field for producing a desired positioning of the nanoparticles, in order to induce the growth of surface projections from the layer of mixture; and polymerization of the mixture.
Abstract:
A support device for motor-vehicle wheel hubs adapted to be mounted between the hub and the body of the rear suspension, consisting of a connection element (12), rotatably connected to the body of the suspension and adapted to rotate on a plane which is basically perpendicular to the ground and parallel to the longer axis of the motor-vehicle, provided with attachments (15) for the hub (16) and connected to an elastic element (20), articulated on the body of the suspension (2, 3) and adapted to control its rotation.
Abstract:
VTOL micro-aircraft comprising a first and a second ducted rotor mutually aligned and distanced according to a common axis and whose propellers are driven in rotation in mutually opposite directions. Between the two ducted rotors are positioned a fuselage and a wing system formed by wing profiles forming an X or an H configuration and provided with control flaps.
Abstract:
A method of diagnosing a vehicle compressed-air generating system, the method including the steps of: acquiring a number of operating data items associated with operation of the compressed-air generating system between turn-on of the system and subsequent turn-off of the system; processing the acquired operating data items and accumulating the data items to create at least one database; and examining the location of the data items in the database to determine malfunction and/or potential malfunction situations of the compressed-air generating system.
Abstract:
A light guide for display devices of the head-mounted or head-up type comprises: a body of the light guide (22) at least in part transparent to visible light; a coupling device (24) associated to the body of the light guide (22) and designed to couple the body (22) to an optical system (18) designed to generate an image, the coupling device (24) being obtained in such a way that the light beams coming from the optical system (18) enter the body of the light guide (22) and propagate within the body (22) by total internal reflection; and an image-extraction grating, designed to extract the light beams that propagate in the body of the light guide (22) so as to enable an observer to visualize the extracted image against a background visible in transparency through the body of the light guide (22). The extraction grating (32) is set in the proximity of one of the outer surfaces of the guide and has a saw-tooth profile. The extraction grating (32) is coated with a partially reflecting coating deposited prevalently on the surfaces of the teeth that are least inclined with respect to the surfaces (22) of the guide.
