The pulse air connector (14) terminates in a housing chamber (13) located between the diaphragm (41) and the pump piston (22), and at least one spring element (15, 35, 94) acts on each side of the diaphragm (41). Here, the spring element (15) arranged in the housing chamber (13) is supported on the diaphragm (41) via the separate pump piston (22). An electromagnetic drive unit (90) is arranged in the housing chamber (33) located on the other side of the diaphragm (41), which via its armature (91) supports the compression stroke of the pump piston (22) synchronously with the compression stroke of the two-cycle engine.

The device has a fluid supply chamber with a working medium such as oil and which in turn is in open communication with a metering chamber also containing the medium fluid. Upon entering the metering chamber, the pumping piston passes through an annular flexible seal of generally U-shaped cross section that has a pair of axially extending lips which act, respectively, along the piston and the metering chamber to thereby form a one-way valve therebetween. The piston forces the fluid out of the metering chamber and the volume displaced by the piston can be adjusted by adjusting the axial position of the metering chamber and thereby vary the extent to which the pumping piston enters the metering chamber.

The high pressure gas contained within the storage tank is then released when needed. A series of valves control the direction and pressure of the gas or air and hydraulic fluid. The present invention makes possible the production of relatively high gas pressures. Additionally, the present invention remains relatively cool during operation.

The valve member when it is in its second position allows communication with the third pressure receiving surface while allowing exhausting of fluid from the first pressure receiving surface for initially moving the valve member against the back pressure of the exhaust fluid from its second position while equalizing the pressure acting on the second pressure receiving surface to move the valve member to a position equalizing the pressure acting on the second pressure receiving surface with a pressure lower than the pressure of the control fluid for moving the valve member from its first position, whereby the operation is repeated ad infinitum. Piping is connected to threaded exhaust ports in the valve body to communicate exhaust fluid to a reservoir where it is collected under pressure for further use.
