    摘要: An air-driven hydraulic pump, comprising an air motor, and an oil pump, which is operatively connected with the air motor, wherein the air motor includes a cylinder element in which an air piston is arranged movable in a reciprocating manner along a centre axis. The air piston is connected with an oil piston of the oil pump for transmitting the reciprocating movement of the air piston to the oil piston. The air piston separates a first cylinder chamber from a second cylinder chamber within the cylinder element. A control valve element is arranged to control the application of pressurized air from a source of pressurized air to the cylinder element. At least one pressure control valve is arranged in the air motor, allowing an air flow from one of the cylinder chambers to the other cylinder chamber when the pressure difference between the two cylinder chambers exceeds a predetermined value.

    摘要: The invention herein described consists of a single-cylinder free-piston engine system comprising a combustion cylinder, a compression cylinder, a seal between the two cylinders and a piston assembly, capable of being produced in a miniature scale (e.g., less than 10 cubic centimeters volume). The combustion cylinder consists of a holding chamber wherein fuel enters through a fuel inlet port before combustion, a combustion chamber wherein combustion occurs according to an HCCI process, after which the excess fuel and exhaust leaves the engine system through a port for exhaust, and a port extending from the holding chamber to the combustion chamber. The compression cylinder comprises a compression chamber wherein a compressible a compressible fluid enters through an inlet port, is compressed by the single-cylinder engine system, and the compressed fluid exits through an outlet port, and a rebound chamber wherein energy from the combustion process is conserved by a rebound element.

    摘要: A free piston engine, or an opposed free piston engine, in which the power output is derived as a flow of pressurized hydraulic fluid. The engine piston, or each engine piston, coacts with a hydraulic pump which delivers hydraulic fluid into a constant displacement accumulator. The constant displacement accumulator is charged to a predetermined level on each power stroke of the engine piston, to store energy for effecting the recompression stroke. Pressurized fluid for driving a load motor is delivered in accordance with the opening of a pressure-responsive one-way valve, upon charging of the accumulator to its maximum level, so that the energy available for the recompression stroke of the piston is independent of load. In the case of an opposed free piston engine, a closed loop control system is provided for maintaining the engine pistons in synchronism.

    摘要: A combustion-powered tool comprises a primary combustion chamber, a secondary combustion chamber, and a working piston that is in fluidic connection with the secondary combustion chamber so as to be exposed to the pressures developed within the secondary combustion chamber, when combustion takes place within the secondary combustion chamber, such that the working piston can be driven through its working or power stroke. A flexible silicone rubber plate-type control check valve is interposed between the primary combustion chamber and the secondary combustion chamber so as to control the flow of combustion products from the primary combustion chamber into the secondary combustion chamber and yet prevent the flow of combustion products from the secondary combustion chamber back into the primary combustion chamber, when combustion occurs within the secondary combustion chamber, such that the pressures developed within the secondary combustion chamber, as a result of the combustion of the air/fuel mixture within the secondary combustion chamber, can in fact act upon the working piston so as to drive the same through its working or power stroke.

    摘要: A spool valve is provided with a stem portion that defines a fluid passageway formed by either (a) a single central support having a non-cylindrical curved surface shaped hydrodynamically, or (b) only a pair of sidewalls with, preferably, interior surfaces that are also shaped hydrodynamically. These stem passageways, which are designed to facilitate the flow of high-speed/high-pressure fluids controlled by the valve, are maintained in a predetermined orientation relative to the ports of the valve cylinders by a mechanism preferably including (a) a cam-following roller supported in a tang fixed to each spool and (b) a two-element cam that captures the roller within two of the parallel sides of a cam-track groove formed on the respective interior surfaces of each cam element.
