Abstract:
An exemplary system includes a first electric motor and a second electric motor, which are coupled mechanically to one another via a common string of the system. The string has a torsional natural oscillation at a natural frequency. A first oscillating torque acts on the string by the first electric motor and a second oscillating torque acts on the string by the second electric motor. The second electric motor is arranged with respect to the first electric motor such that the effect of the second oscillating torque on the string results in damping of the excitation of the natural oscillation owing to the first oscillating torque.
Abstract:
A bushing structure for a switchgear includes a mounting portion constructed and arranged to mount the bushing structure. A barrel portion extends from the mounting portion and is coaxial there-with. The barrel portion includes a plurality of undulations in a peripheral surface thereof to increase creepage distance. A primary contact is disposed within and extends a length of the barrel portion. The primary contact has a first end constructed and arranged to be contacted by a movable contact of the switchgear and a second end constructed and arranged to be connected with a busbar.
Abstract:
A device for installing a modular crawler into an air gap of rotating electrical machinery and removing the crawler from the air gap has a reconfigurable handle attached to a curved head made from metallic material. The crawler is magnetically attached to the curved head when it is desired to insert the crawler into the air gap or remove the crawler from the air gap. The head can be rolled in the field into the curvature needed to match the stator's inner surface so that the installation device can easily be inserted in the air gap. The handle has several joints that can be adjusted in the field as needed for the best reachability. A camera is mounted on the curved head so that an operator can see the interface region between the curved head, crawler and air gap.
Abstract:
A distributed control system and associated methods of operating distributed control systems includes an asset management system including an asset monitor, event system and alarm system. The management system is operable to communicate with one or more remote stations disposed proximate to one or more assets. The remote stations include camera configured to detect events specific to the particular assets, and upon detecting the event, storing pre-event cached images and post-event images in the asset management system in directories specific to the assets at which the event was recorded.
Abstract:
Isolation structure is provided for electrically isolating a busbar mounted to a post insulator by a fastener via a busbar mounting hole. The busbar has insulating material covering the busbar except for surfaces defining the mounting hole. The isolation structure includes an electrically insulating sleeve constructed and arranged to be disposed around a portion of a periphery of the fastener and to be received in the busbar mounting hole. At least first and second electrically insulating washers each have a bore that receives the insulating sleeve. The insulating washers are constructed and arranged to engage with the surfaces defining the mounting hole on opposing sides of the busbar so as to sandwich the busbar between the first and second insulating washers.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to an electrical switching device, which switches stroke-dependently, with extended switching hysteresis, including a switching element with a contact lever, the switching element cooperating with an actuating element movably guided in a holding device. The actuating element has a step-shaped portion for actuating the contact lever of the switching element and the actuating element has an opening in which an engagement element designed as a bolt or a pin engages when a switching action is initiated. The opening provided in the actuating element is formed as an elongated hole, in which the engagement element engages in order to achieve a switching stroke and a defined hysteresis is thus set depending on the design of the elongated hole.
Abstract:
Drive structure is provided for connection between an actuating assembly of a circuit breaker and linkage structure for opening and closing a movable electrical contact disposed in a volume of insulating material in a pole assembly. The drive structure includes a drive lever constructed and arranged to connect with the at least one actuating assembly. A drive shaft has first and second ends, with the first end being removably coupled to the drive lever so that rotation of the drive shaft rotates the drive lever. Seal structure is disposed between the drive lever and the actuating assembly such that the drive shaft can be removed from the drive lever without disrupting the volume of insulating material.
Abstract:
A voltage and or current sensor device for use in medium- or high voltage application, wherein a sensor or sensors of the sensor device is or are arranged in a housing. To enhance communication between the sensor and an electronical device, in order to use maximum possible accuracy potential of the voltage and current sensors, a signal and/or data memory element is integrated in the sensor housing, or placed near the sensor such that the sensor device output signal can be directly evaluated.
Abstract:
An exemplary modular cooling system for cooling a plurality of electronic components is provided. The cooling system includes a plurality of cooling modules and a clamping arrangement. Each cooling module includes an evaporator unit, a condenser, a first pipe system, and a second pipe system. The clamping arrangement is adapted for holding and pressing an alternation stack in which the evaporator units are stacked in alternation with the power electronic components.
Abstract:
An electrically insulating shell is disclosed, which includes a first half shell and a second half shell devised to be mutually connected together and shaped so as to define, once connected together, a central part delimiting a substantially closed space, which will encase a corresponding first portion of an associated electrical conductor. A first hollow portion protrudes from a first side of the central part, the first hollow portion being in communication with an inner space of the closed central part and adapted to surround a corresponding second portion of the electrical conductor. A second hollow portion protrudes from the central part from a second side opposite to the first side, the second hollow portion being in communication with the inner space of the closed central part and adapted to surround a corresponding third portion of the electrical conductor.
