Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method of determining the presence of autoimmune disease with the use of glycan biomarkers. A method of improving the detection sensitivity of trace glycans from a mixture of glycans and a microfluidic chip therefor are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a compound of formula (I) as a SERCA inhibitor for treating cancers, a pharmaceutical composition comprising said compound, and methods of using said compound for treating cancers and/or inducing cell death in cells of said cancers. Said cancers include but not limited to cervical, lung, liver, breast, and prostate cancer. Said cancers also include drug-resistant and/or apoptosis-resistant cancers such as isogenic drug-resistant colon cancer. The subject being administered with said compound or the composition comprising thereof can be human or animal subject. Said methods for treating cancers and/or inducing cell death can be a targeting treatment for certain cancers.

Abstract:
A method and a device for information system access authentication are disclosed. The method includes: performing anonymous authentication to a random verification code generated according to a login request for accessing an information system of a client, and authenticating acquired user name and password information when the anonymous authentication is successful. The device includes an verification code authentication module and a user name and password authentication module connected to the verification code authentication module, wherein the verification code authentication module is configured to perform anonymous authentication to a random verification code generated according to a login request for accessing an information system of client; and the user name and password authentication module is configured to authenticate acquired user name and password information when the anonymous authentication is successful. The present disclosure uses a two-stage and two-factor authentication method such that the security of the login information is improved without increasing the complexity of the user's login.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method of treating cancer comprising administering an effective amount of an alkaloid, in which the alkaloid is liensinine, isoliensinine, dauricine, cepharanthine, hernandezine or thalidezine and isolated from the traditional Chinese medicinal herbs. The use of the alkaloid in treating neurodegenerative disorder is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for scheduling a random-access communication system having high-priority (HP) and low-priority (LP) nodes is provided, where the scheduling is configured such that the system provides an absolute throughput guarantee for the HP nodes, and a proportional throughput guarantee for the LP nodes. The method is based on obtaining a length of a contention window assigned to an individual node, which is either a HP or a LP node, from a per-slot attempt rate of this individual node. In particular, the attempt rate of each individual node is determined by an algorithm configured such that a resultant sum of the per-slot attempt rates of all the individual nodes is a fixed value independent of the number of the individual nodes. By this scheduling method, the maximum system throughput is approached. The method can be advantageously used in a wireless local area network (WLAN).
Abstract:
An optical fiber environmental detection system comprising an interferometer, a broadband light source and a detector is disclosed. The interferometer further comprises a thin core fiber, a first single mode fiber and a second single mode fiber; wherein the thin core fiber is coupled to the first and second single mode fiber via a first junction and a second junction respectively. When an emission light reaches the first junction, high-order cladding modes will be excited. The excited cladding modes will interfere with the core mode at the second junction. The interferences determine the intensity maximum or minimum of the received signal. When there is an ambient environmental change, a shift of the received signal would be induced. According to the shift, environmental change, for instance ambient temperature, could be determined.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method of treating neurodegenerative disorder comprising administering an effective amount of an alkaloid which is a bisbenzylisoquinline alkaloid isolated from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Nelumbo nucifera. The pharmaceutical composition thereof for treating Huntington's disease is also disclosed.
