摘要: An optical disc recording device according to the present invention is capable of quickly performing the OPC operation for a rewritable optical disc, and is also capable of setting the proper writing power for both an unwritten area and a written area. A microcomputer reads out, from a memory, preliminary writing conditions for the optical disc in question, and then performs preliminary writing so that data is written to a test writing area of the optical disc under the preliminary writing conditions. After that, test writing to the test writing area, which has been subjected to the preliminary writing, is performed with the writing power being changed, and thereby the optimum writing power is determined. Information about the writing power and the erasing power is stored in the memory on an optical disc type basis. The information is used for the preliminary writing.

摘要: This invention provides an apparatus and method for preamble detection and integer carrier frequency offset estimation, which method comprises the steps of: determining the window of useful subcarriers in preamble transformed to frequency domain based on pre-determined possible integer carrier frequency offset and the length of the preamble, so as to select the useful subcarriers; extracting a plurality of subcarrier sequences having a length equal to that of the preamble from the useful subcarriers; calculating conjugative multiplications of each subcarrier and its neighboring subcarriers in the subcarrier sequences extracted; acquiring the real part of the conjugative multiplications; calculating the cross correlations between the real part of the conjugative multiplications and known preambles modulated by DBPSK, and outputting the calculated correlation values; and detecting preamble index of a target base station with the calculated correlation values to select a target cell, and estimating integer carrier frequency offset with respect to the target base station.

摘要: A distortion compensating apparatus calculates a distortion compensation coefficient in such a manner that a difference signal between a reference signal, which is a transmit signal, and a feedback signal will be diminished, updates an old distortion compensation coefficient by the calculated distortion compensation coefficient and applies distortion compensation to the transmit signal based upon this distortion compensation coefficient. In this apparatus, a phase correcting interval, which is for correcting the phase difference between the reference signal and the feedback signal, and a distortion compensation coefficient updating interval are generated alternately, a correction is applied so as to null the phase difference in the phase correcting interval, and the distortion compensation coefficient is updated in the distortion compensation coefficient updating interval.

摘要: Methods for realizing a video blur detecting function include methods of detecting a video blur by means of a sensor such as an angular velocity sensor and methods of detecting it by means of a sensor and motion prediction of moving picture encoding. Use of a sensor is disadvantageous in cost, mounting volume, and shock resistance, and it is difficult to mount the video blur detecting function in a device such as a portable telephone. When camera shake correction is detected by using only motion prediction of moving picture encoding, the average or median of the whole is used by using motion prediction of the whole encoding units constituting the frame, and therefore the accuracy of camera shake detection is low. According to the invention, a video device comprising a video signal acquiring section, a video signal encoding section, an intermediate information comparing section, a video blur value detecting section, and an encoding unit weighting determining section is provided.

摘要: Manufacturing method enabling optimal volume oil-fill even where differing from bearing to bearing due to machining fluctuations in volume-production dynamic pressure bearings. In a first charging method, injection of oil is divided into two cycles. The first is carried out under reduced pressure, following which the pressure is raised a predetermined amount to force the oil into the bearing gap. The oil-fill status is thereupon checked, the shortage is reckoned, and in the second cycle the shortage is injected. In a second charging method, in a first cycle a surplus volume is injected under reduced pressure and the pressure is raised a predetermined amount to force the oil into the bearing gap. Following that, what is in excess of the appropriate amount is removed from the bearing. The first cycle of injection and the pressure elevation may be implemented multiple times, in between which repeat pressure-reduction can be carried out.
