摘要: A method for fabricating scanning probe microscopy (SPM) probes is disclosed. The probes are fabricated by forming a structural layer on a substrate, wherein the substrate forms a cavity. A sacrificial layer is located between the substrate and the structural layer. Upon forming the structural layer, the sacrificial layer is selectively removed, and the probe is then released from the substrate. The substrate may then later be reused to form additional probes. Additionally, a contact printing method using a scanning probe microscopy probe is also disclosed.

摘要: Techniques that provide cost effective optical fiber communication links for HDCP transmission systems and the like are provided. A single fiber for bidirectional communication is enabled, without wavelength selective unit to achieve the HDCP transmission. One embodiment of the present invention has a forward channel using a light source (e.g., VCSEL at about 850 nm) in the GHz modulation level (e.g., 1 GHz or greater), and a corresponding photodetector. The backward channel has a light source (e.g., LED at 630 nm) in the MHz modulation level (e.g., 10 MHz or less), and a corresponding photodetector. One application is for realizing a home entertainment system (e.g., DVD player and high definition television) that employs an HDCP-enabled communication link to transmit copy restricted digital content.

摘要: Embodiments described herein are directed to wireless power transfer systems, which can include a vertical pair of an inner and an outer coupling capacitors. According to certain embodiments, one plate from each of the outer coupling capacitor at least in part overlaps one plate of the inner coupling capacitor on a primary side and another plate from the outer coupling capacitor at least partially overlaps another plate of the inner coupling capacitor on a secondary side. Each plate of the outer coupling capacitor has a larger area than each plate of the inner coupling capacitor. Further, a power transfer unit is included and configured to transfer power capacitively through the vertical pair of coupling capacitors, where the power transfer unit can include first and second inductors coupled to each plate of the outer coupling capacitor, respectively.

摘要: A volatile material dispenser (100) and its housing and cartridge (600; 700) are disclosed. The housing for the volatile material dispenser (100) comprises a bottom plate (200; 200′), a covering plate (300) and a chamber defined therebetween for receiving a cartridge (600; 700), and the housing further comprises a regulating plate (400) movably mounted to the covering plate (300). The covering plate (300) and the regulating plate (400) each have one bored portion and one non-bore portion. The bored portion (420) and the non-bore portion (410) of the regulating plate (400) each occupy a half of the regulating plate (400). The regulating plate (400) is movable between an open position and a closed position with respect to the covering plate (300). The bored portion (320) of the covering plate (300) is aligned with the bored portion (420) of the regulating plate (400) in the open position, and the bored portion (320) of the covering plate (300) is covered by the non-bore portion (410) of the regulating plate (400) in the closed position. The chamber is provided with a fixing element capable of fixing the cartridge (600; 700) in place. The advantages of the present invention lie in that the dispensing of the dispenser (100) can be controlled more precisely.

摘要: The invention discloses Physical Cell Identity (PCI) allocation in a cellular network. Radii of an inner boundary circle of a first and second cell are each estimated according to a cell distance relation model. Signal strengths within the inner boundary circles of the first and second cells are each greater than a first threshold. Then radii of an outer boundary circle of the first and second cell are each estimated according to the cell distance relation model. The signal strengths within the outer boundary circles of the first and second cells are each greater than a second threshold, where the second threshold is lower than the first threshold. The second cell is allocated a PCI based on a distance relation between the first cell and the second cell.

摘要: The present invention proposes an LED backlight driving circuit comprises voltage booster circuits parallelly connected and a constant current driving IC module. The voltage booster circuits are used for conversing an input voltage into a needed output voltage to supply to an LED unit. The constant current driving IC module is used for controlling the voltage booster circuits, so that the voltage booster circuits converse the input voltage into the needed output voltage to supply to the LED unit, driving the LED unit in a constant current. The constant current driving IC module generates driving signals at different frequencies to control the voltage booster circuits respectively. The invention can set up multiple driving signals operating simultaneously at different frequencies respectively and disperse resulting harmonic wave, hence reduce EMI signals of the backlight driving circuit effectively. The present invention also proposes an LCD using the LED backlight driving circuit.
