摘要: A novel cam mechanism or assembly is provided by the present disclosure. The cam mechanism can have a cylindrical or barrel shape configuration. The cam mechanism includes a first module or body (also referred to as an inner body), a cam module or body encircling said first module, and a guide module or body (also referred to as an outer body) encircling each of the first module and the cam module. The cam mechanism is configured to translate rotary motion or torque of the cam module about a rotational axis (A) into linear displacement of the first module in a parallel manner along said rotational axis (A). The outer body or guide body encircles each of the cam module and the inner body. The outer body can be a stationary or fixed structure, and can be configured to physically isolate the movable components of the cam mechanism (e.g., the cam module and the inner body).

摘要: Techniques are disclosed for maintaining consistent lumen output of a lighting assembly over time. By maintaining a consistent lumen output, it is possible to maintain acceptable color stability where color mixing of multiple outputs is used. The lighting assembly may be any lighting configuration that might suffer from lumen depreciation and/or color drift over time, and may include any type(s) of light source(s) that may be monitored and driven accordingly. The lighting assembly, in addition to light source(s), includes a photo detector and a directed light source, such as a laser. The directed light source provides a golden sample for use in calibrating the photo detector, which in turn monitors lumen output of the light source(s). Drive signals are adjusted to account for lumen depreciation of the monitored light source(s).

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for isolating active regions in a germanium-based MOS device. A surface of a germanium-based substrate is covered by a thin polysilicon layer or a poly-SiGe layer, and an isolation structure of germanium dioxide covered by a silicon dioxide layer or a SiGe oxide layer on top is formed by means of two steps of oxidation in a case of the active regions are protected. Such two steps of oxidation using the polysilicon layer or the poly-SiGe layer as a sacrificial layer is advantageous to improve the isolation quality of a fabricated germanium dioxide and to reduce a beak effect occurred during a local field oxygen oxidation so as to dramatically elevate the performance of the germanium device.

摘要: Techniques are disclosed for obtaining a desired luminance and/or intensity distribution from any lighting fixture that is illuminated by a lightguide. The techniques can be used, for instance, to design a non-uniform surface texture (e.g., of light extraction features) for a lightguide, wherein the surface texture achieves a desired uniform or an intentionally non-uniform luminance distribution for a given lightguide shape/geometry, dimensions, and/or composition. In some embodiments, an iteration algorithm with illuminance distribution feedback is utilized to design a non-uniform surface texture (e.g., geometry, dimensions, quantity and/or spatial distribution of light extraction features) to achieve the target luminance distribution for a given lighting application.

摘要: Processing events in a distributed environment. There is provided an apparatus which includes a central queue for receiving events and tracking their progress through filtering, correlation, and update processing of stateful target objects, at least one filtering node, at least one correlation node and at least one update node. The central queue receives events in their order of arrival, each event having an entry in the central queue. Processing of events is divided into three pipelined stages in the order of filtering, correlating and updating. A result for each event of each of filtering the events, correlating the events and updating the target object is recorded in the central queue as part of the event's queue entry. The method may be performed by one or more computing devices. The exemplary embodiments detect and compensate for any erroneous results due to unsynchronized parallel processing, and guarantee an eventually correct outcome.
