Abstract:
An anti-locking braking device for a vehicle wheel comprises apparatus for producing a first pulsed electrical signal whose pulse frequency represents the rotational speed of the wheel and apparatus for producing a second pulsed electrical signal representing a preset fraction of the vehicle speed. Digital apparatus are provided for comparing the first and second signals to thereby produce as a function of their difference, a pulsed control signal for driving an electro-valve of proportional type which is arranged to limit the maximum braking force applied to the wheel.
Abstract:
This automotive accessory is intended for flexibly fastening elastic suspension elements of seats consisting of loop springs, and the ends of the springs are stapled to a flexible rod adapted to undergo a flexible deformation by flexion and disposed substantially perpendicularly to the springs, the rod ends being slidably engaged in supporting bearings rigidly secured to the peripheral frame of the seat.
Abstract:
The suspension comprises at least one pivoted wheel arm, in line with a rigid hollow element belonging to the structure of the vehicle. The wheel arm is pivoted on an axle borne by said hollow element, the wheel arm being fast in rotation to a rigid member adapted to cooperate with elastic stops housed in the hollow element. The pivoting axle of the wheel arm has its geometrical axis situated outside the rigid hollow element and the latter comprises an opening in its wall adapted to be traversed by said rigid member, which member constitutes a radial extension of the arm intended to project inside the hollow element between the elastic stops. The suspension is particularly useful for passenger automobile vehicles.
Abstract:
A device comprising means capable of emitting an electrical signal and means responsive to said signal and adapted to command a change of gear. The means capable of emitting the signal include a light source which can be caused to communicate with a receiver element capable of triggering the electrical signal, and two rotatable shafts, the angular amplitudes of whose rotations depend respectively on engine operating parameters. The two shafts cooperate with means for causing the light emitter and receiver to communicate. Application to the control of an automobile gearbox.
Abstract:
A honing head is constructed with at least two honing members so that two co-axial bores, not necessarily of the same diameter can be honed simultaneously. A mechanism serves to expand the honing members simultaneously and in dependence upon the resistive torque detected by a detector. A pneumatic device including a nozzle connected in a circuit serves to detect when one of the honing members contacts the corresponding bore to be honed. This contact serves to increase by a predetermined value, depending on the particular honing member at which contact was detected, the value of the resistive torque.
Abstract:
TO INCREASE THE WEAR RESISTANCE OF A ROTARY PISTON ENEGINE CASING ENVELOPE THE INNER SURFACE OF THE ENVELOPE IS COATED BY A KEYING FILM AND THEN A RESISTANT SUB-LAYER OF AN ALLOY OF STEEL AND NICKEL ALUMINIDES, THEN BY A THIN WEAR-RESISTANT LAYER OF NICKEL OR COBALT. THE SUB-LAYER IS FORMED BY FLAME-SPRAYING SIMULTANEOUSLY 90% TO 70% BY VOLUME CARBON STEEL WITH 10% TO 30% OF A MIXUTRE OF EQUAL PARTS OF NICKEL AND ALUMINIUM POWDERS.
Abstract:
Steering axle with longitudinal elastic suspension for a vehicle, wherein the steering stability is not impaired by longitudinal wheel beats, this steering axle being characterized in that the steering box is secured to the body of the vehicle through any suitable resilient means permitting slight or low amplitude movements of one portion of the axle carried by said steering box and comprising wheel support members and the steering linkage.
