    摘要: A rotary damper includes an electromagnetic damper motor, a damper housing surrounding the damper motor and configured as tubular torsion spring secured by a fastening element to a first mass. A lever is swingably mounted relative to the fastening element and connected to a second mass. The torsion spring is connected with one end to the fastening element and with another end to the lever. A gear mechanism formed as strain wave gearing transmits and/or modifies a relative rotational movement between the first and second masses to the damper motor for vibration damping. The strain wave gearing includes a rigid unit having internal teeth, a flexible unit having external teeth, and an oval wave generator rotatably mounted in the flexible unit and causing a deformation of the flexible unit, when rotating, with the rigid and flexible units coupled to one another by a formfit via the internal and external teeth.

    摘要: A suspension apparatus for an automotive vehicle employs, as its main element, a main suspension member 10. The main suspension member 10 includes a main portion 12 constituted by a pipe; two body-side attachment portions 14, 16 that are fixed to opposite ends of the main portion 12, respectively; and a wheel-side attachment portion 18 that is fixed to a rear-side portion of the main portion 12. The opposite ends of the pipe constituting the main portion 12 are located near to each other, such that the main portion 12 has a generally C-shaped configuration in its side view. The body-side attachment portions 14, 16 are attached to a body of the vehicle such that those portions 14, 16 are pivotable about their pivotal axes. The pivotal axes of the two body-side attachment portions 14, 16 are offset from each other in a direction perpendicular to those axes, or are inclined relative to each other. Otherwise, those pivotal axes are offset from each other in the direction perpendicular thereto, and simultaneously are inclined relative to each other. The wheel-side attachment portion 18 is attached to a wheel-holding member, not shown, that holds a wheel 30 such that the wheel 30 is rotatable. Thus, the main suspension member 10 can function as both a suspension spring and a suspension link.

    摘要: A flexible shaft having at least one end formed to have a helical square shape, wherein successive cross-sections have square shapes progressively rotated with respect to each other. The overall rotation from where the square cross-section begins to the adjacent end of the shaft is preferably in the range of 10 to 20 degrees. The helical square end is preferably shaped by swaging utilizing helical square dies preferably made by electron discharge machining. When the helical square end of the flexible shaft is forced into a mating square opening of an end fitting, the helical square configuration of the shaft end causes it to be deformed and bind tightly in the fitting with an interference fit, thus reducing vibration and noise when the shaft is rotated. Instead of a helical square shape, the end of the flexible shaft may alternatively have another helical polygonal shape.

The torsion bar suspension arrangement has a torsion bar receiving means for applying torsion to the torsion bars and the torsion adjusting means includes engagement means being capable of orientation at a predetermined angle with respect to a vertical axis for engaging the torsion bar receiving means and a member having a channel formed therein for receipt of the engagement means. The torsion adjusting means is arranged to urge the torsion bar receiving means to a predetermined orientation.

The assembly mounts behind the vehicle's rear axle such that the auxiliary wheels are in close proximity to the rear vehicle wheels, with the support framework of the auxiliary wheels entirely behind the mounting location of these wheels. The assembly consists of two interconnected independently suspended auxiliary wheels which are connected to the vehicle through a centrally located pair of common mounting brackets. The assembly has a minimal longitudinal displacement relative to the main vehicle rear wheels and is easily mounted beneath an existing vehicle.
