    Abstract: Wheat variety designated KS Big Bow is disclosed. The variety is a hard white winter wheat that is white seeded and is well adapted for the semi-arid regions in western Kansas and surrounding states. Plants and seeds of wheat variety KS Big Bow, methods for producing a wheat plant produced by crossing the variety KS Big Bow with another wheat plant, and hybrid wheat seeds and plants produced by crossing the variety KS Big Bow with another wheat line or plant, and the creation of variants by backcrossing, mutagenesis or transformation of variety KS Big Bow are disclosed. Methods for producing other wheat varieties or breeding lines derived from wheat variety KS Big Bow and to wheat varieties or breeding lines produced by those methods are also provided.

    Abstract: A method for capturing carbon dioxide comprises introducing a first feed stream comprising carbon dioxide and dioxygen into a first electrochemical cell, reducing the carbon dioxide to carbonate ions at a first cathode of the first electrochemical cell, and reducing the carbonate ions at a first anode to produce a first product stream comprising concentrated carbon dioxide and a second product stream comprising water. A second feed stream comprising water is introduced to a second electrochemical cell coupled to the first electrochemical cell. The water is oxidized at a second anode of the second electrochemical cell to produce hydrogen ions and dioxygen gas, the hydrogen ions are reduced to hydrogen gas at a second cathode, and the hydrogen gas produced by the second cathode is transported to the first anode. The first product stream is removed from the first electrochemical cell. Additional methods and related systems are also disclosed.

    Abstract: Monitoring systems for center pivot irrigation systems and methods of irrigating an agricultural crop using the irrigation systems are provided. The irrigation systems may comprise a plurality of in-canopy sprinklers. The monitoring systems are configured to detect an operational condition of the plurality of in-canopy sprinklers, including whether individual sprinkler heads have become detached from the irrigation system main line, or whether an individual sprinkler head has become clogged, and alert an operator with a time and/or location of the occurrence of an event associated with one or more of the sprinklers.

    Abstract: Described herein are apparatus and methods for orthographic imaging of particles. Particularly, a method to obtain contact-free images of aerosol particles with digital holography from three orthogonal directions is described and demonstrated. Diode lasers of different wavelengths simultaneously illuminate free flowing particles to form holograms on three sensors. Images of the particles are reconstructed from the holograms and used to infer the three-dimensional structure of single spherical particles or clusters of sphere-like particles. The apparatus employs inexpensive components and requires no lenses to achieve the imaging, which gives it a large sensing volume and simple design.
