Abstract:
A card for testing functions of the card interface of an electronic device is provided. The testing card includes a converting circuit, a latch circuit, a data processor, a signal generator, an oscillation combination circuit, and a reset circuit is provided. The converting circuit is coupled to the card interface. The latch circuit receives the data signal fed in from the card interface, latches the data signal and outputs it to the data processor afterwards. Having received the signal sent from the converting circuit and the latch circuit, the data processor is able to proceed with testing. The signal generator can output the mode selection signal and the interrupt signal to the card interface to test the functions of mode selection and interrupt signals. Furthermore, the oscillation combination circuit can generate a wait signal and feed the wait signal to the card interface for the wait test.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for fabricating an integrated circuit entail directing a vapor flux toward a substrate surface from a plurality of directions associated with a plurality of azimuth angles, and selecting a deposition angle of the vapor flux, relative to a normal incidence, to obtain a substantially conformal film. The surface feature can be associated with, for example, one or more vias and/or one or more trenches.
Abstract:
A bad editing detection device is provided to pre-detect a bad editing of image signal, so as to avoid zigzag effect in the television image. When the input image is from a film, instead of from a video source, the line doubler performs a de-interlace for the film signal to increase the vertical resolution of the television signal. The detection device detects a bad editing before the image signal is played and adjusts the de-interlace of the line doubler to avoid zigzag effect.

The present invention relates to the preparation of therapeutic compositions comprising of fermented soy extracts made with lactic acid bacteria and the optional addition of at least a yeast. The invention also relates to therapeutic uses of such extracts in promoting general health, improving the health of subjects, preventing and/or treating cancer, preventing infections, reducing the incidence of infections, treating infections, treating asthma, treating inflammation, modulating the immune system and treating immune disorders.
Abstract:
An ultrasound transducer employs a silicon acoustic matching layer closest to the piezoelectric layer in order to achieve improved resolution. A silicon wafer, ground to an appropriate thickness, is included in the acoustic stack with other matching layer materials during transducer construction. The exact thickness is determined by the details of the design, but is nominally a quarter wavelength in the silicon.
Abstract:
Cobalt thin films were prepared by atomic layer deposition (ALD). The precursor cobalt(II) acetylacetonate [Co(C5H7O2)2] was used to selectively deposit films onto iridium substrates using hydrogen reduction. Cobalt growth was observed on SiO2, silicon, fluorinated silica glass (FSG), and tantalum when silane was used as a reducing agent.

Abstract:
A computer system to project and localize radiation treatment portals, i.e., field center, field borders, on patient skin without using a light field is disclosed. The system includes a multimedia software program that interacts with a three-dimensional digitizer which acquires the coordinates of any point in space that is accessible by the digitizer probe. The system constructs and employs coordinate system transformations from digitizer coordinates to room coordinates to radiation beam coordinates. For any point digitized, the invention system calculates the position of this point relative to the radiation field, and displays or signals to the user whether the digitized point is in the radiation field, outside of the field or on the field border. This is accomplished through a screen display of the radiation beam's eye view, an audio signal and/or LED light indicators mounted on the digitizer probe.

This invention relates to the automatic determination of beam parameters and other criteria to determine a dose plan of radiation on a target volume. The method involves determination of geometric and other radiation involvement criteria, with search of a phase space on the incoming direction of the irradiation beam ports. The evaluation of the goodness of fit, based on parameter thresholds and other considerations, makes it possible to search on the entire phase space of possible beam directions towards the target volume so as to improve the treatment planning dosimetry. The invention applies to circular or non-circular collimator shapes, and can be illustrated by use with a linear accelerator (LINAC) as a means for X-ray delivery to a target volume such as a tumor within a patient's body.
Abstract:
A PA-F polymer film is formed using a mixture of 1,4-bis (trifluoromethyl) benzene (TFB) and a halogen initiator. This mixture is provided to a low pressure reactor containing a metal catalyst. The reactor is operated at a sufficient temperature to form a reactive monomer by a chemical reaction at the surface of the catalyst. The reactive monomer is condensed on the surface of a substrate cooled to a temperature sufficiently low to induce polymerization of the reactive monomer to form a PA-F polymer film. In general, the proportion of halogen initiator is about 0.25 to 50% by volume relative to the total volume of the TFB/halogen initiator mixture. The reactor is operated at a temperature of about 200.degree. to 700.degree. C. and a pressure of less than about one torr. In addition, the surface of the substrate is maintained at a temperature of about -30.degree. C. to room temperature. In the preferred approach, the halogen initiator is dibromotetrafluoro-p-xylene (DBX) and the proportion of DBX is about 1 to 5%.
