Abstract: A method performed at a network component for indicating a number of grants in a transmission and a corresponding method performed at a station to limit a search for the grants to the number indicated in the transmission. In one embodiment, the transmission includes physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) information and modified cyclic redundancy check (CRC) information, the modified CRC information being generated from CRC information for the PDCCH information and a modifier representing a number of grants. The station determines the number of grants from the modified CRC information, performs a search for a first grant within the PDCCH information and terminates the search upon identifying the first grant, when the number of grants is the first number.

Abstract: A client device and a host device may create a local connection for providing wide area network access, such as Internet access, to the client device. In some embodiments, the client device may have limited network capabilities and may not be able to access the Internet without the host device. The client device may provide its speed and direction in a message to potential host devices. A host device may calculate a suitability metric, based on the speed and direction of the client as well as connection properties of the networks, which indicates an ability for the host device to connect the client device to the Internet. The host device may provide the suitability metric within a connection request to the client device. Based on the suitability metric and/or other factors, the client device and the host device may establish the local connection.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a system and method for generating single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) transmissions using a high efficiency architecture. According to some embodiments, frequency resources allocated for a transmission may be determined. The allocated frequency resources may have a bandwidth less than a channel bandwidth of a frequency channel of the transmission, and may be centered around a particular frequency. The frequency may be offset from the center frequency of the channel. A baseband signal located around DC corresponding to the channel center frequency may be generated. The baseband signal may be up-converted to an RF signal using a local oscillator tuned to the frequency around which the allocated frequency resources are centered. The RF signal may be transmitted.

Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for processing a received communication signal by a UE using an analog complex filter and using a single analog-to-digital converter (ADC). A control channel of the communication signal may be decoded to determine the frequency range in which a payload channel is located. The UE may then demodulate only the frequency range containing the payload channel. A complex representation of the received payload channel may be provided to the analog complex filter, with the payload channel shifted to a non-zero frequency IF. The analog complex filter may attenuate any portion of the complex representation that falls near—IF. The UE may then convert only one component path of the filtered complex representation to a digital signal. A complex representation of the digital signal may then be generated, with the payload channel shifted to DC.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to apparatus, systems, and methods for reception of calls on a mobile device that includes Wi-Fi and cellular radios. The mobile device may be configured to establish communication on a Wi-Fi network with a cellular carrier. The mobile device may further be configured to register a first IP address with an IMS server for the Wi-Fi network communication and register a second IP address with the IMS server for the cellular network communication (or register different ports of a single IP address with Wi-Fi and cellular). Upon occurrence of a mobile terminating call from the cellular carrier, the mobile device may receive an incoming call notification on one or both of the Wi-Fi network using the first IP address and the cellular network using the second IP address.

Abstract: A user equipment device (UE) may be configured to collect first performance information from antennas of a first plurality of antennas. The first plurality of antennas may be coupled to a first radio of the UE that may be configured to perform wireless communications according to a first RAT. The UE may determine, based on at least the first performance information, a highest performing antenna of the first plurality of antennas to use for communications according to the first RAT. Additionally, the UE may determine, also based on at least the first performance information, a first antenna of a second plurality of antennas to use for communications according to a second RAT. The second plurality of antennas may be coupled to a second radio of the UE that may be configured to perform wireless communications according to the second RAT.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a user equipment (UE) and base station implement improved communication methods which enable a UE that is peak current limited to perform UL transmissions which are consistent with the UL timeline. Embodiments are also presented which enable a UE that is peak current limited to utilize a new form of distributed TTI (transmit time interval) bundling for improved uplink communication performance. In performing “distributed” TTI bundling, the UE may transmit a plurality of redundancy versions of first information to the base station, wherein the plurality of redundancy versions are transmitted in non-consecutive sub-frames with a periodicity of X ms. After the plurality of redundancy versions of first information are transmitted to the base station, the base station may provide a single acknowledge/negative acknowledge (ACK/NACK) to the UE. A method for dynamically generating and using a bundle size for TTI bundling is also disclosed.
