Abstract:
Techniques for high performance inverter charger systems are described herein. In one embodiment, a power supply system includes, but is not limited to, an inverter to generate an AC (alternating current) output based on a DC (direct current) input, a current sensing circuit coupled to the inverter to sense an amount of current drawn from the inverter, and a microcontroller coupled to the inverter and the current sensing circuit to reduce the AC output of the inverter according to a predetermined algorithm stored within the microcontroller, in response to a detection that the amount of current drops below a predetermined threshold. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a modular electrical circuit includes the steps of pre-manufacturing a plurality of components having fine features such as resistors, capacitors, inductances, and conductors formed on a dielectric substrate. The pre-manufactured components are laminated each to the other in a predetermined order. Each pre-manufactured component includes one or more electrical elements of the same type coupled each to the other by conducting lines. Each dielectric substrate includes through vias filled with the conductive material which serve for cross-coupling of the elements of neighboring components. Position of the passive elements, as well as conductive lines and through vias, are pre-designed to allow precise coordination between the elements of different components in the multi-layered modular electrical circuit.
Abstract:
Ligand-dependent inteins allow for modulation of a protein's activity in vivo. Upon binding of the ligand to the ligand-dependent intein inserted into the protein of interest, the hybrid protein undergoes protein splicing removing the intein. The activity of the spliced protein is then restored. A 4-hydroxytamoxifen-dependent intein based on the M. tuberculosis RecA intein is prepared and demonstrated in a variety of exteins contexts. The invention provides a system for engineering other ligand-dependent inteins and using them, including the ligand-dependent inteins themselves, hybrid proteins with the inserted ligand-dependent inteins, polynucleotides encoding inteins and hybrid proteins, and engineered cells. Kits with the materials and reagents necessary for preparing and using ligand-dependent inteins are also included.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of altering a nucleic acid such as RNA or DNA. The method comprises fragmenting a parent nucleic acid strand to generate nucleic acid fragments. At least a subset of the fragments are ligated to generate shuffled nucleic acid strands. A selected strand is identified from the shuffled nucleic acid strands for a criterion. The methods of the invention can also be used to diversify proteins.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a multifunction vehicular surface cleaning system comprised of pipe, soap box and switcher; wherein, said soap box is located on the outside of said pipe at the inlet end of the pipe with the its outlet; said switcher is correspondently set upon the outlet of the soap box and the inlet of the pipe, so that by turning said switcher the system can be shifted in cut-off said input pipe with soap box and output pipe, or cut-in the input pipe to output pipe directly only, or cut-in the input pipe to both the output pipe and the soap box, in order to carry out three working states of cut-off, or spraying clear water or soap water. A hollow brush is connected to the outlet of output pipe in socket joint, and there are some water gates built on bottom base of the brush for facilitating to cleaning operation directly. Said cleaning system is very convenient in shifting operation as changing functions, meanwhile the leak tightness is good, the cleaning operation is also convenient.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to methods to inhibit TGF-β and/or p38-α kinase using compounds of the formula or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof wherein R3 is a noninterfering substituent; each Z is CR2 or N, wherein no more than two Z positions in ring A are N, and wherein two adjacent Z positions in ring A cannot be N; each R2 is independently a noninterfering substituent; L is a linker; n is 0 or 1; and Ar′ is the residue of a cyclic aliphatic, cyclic heteroaliphatic, aromatic or heteroaromatic moiety optionally substituted with 1-3 noninterfering substituents.
Abstract:
A health care shoe, which can continuously provide adequate magnetic field arranged to penetrate through the wearer's foot for improving the wearer's blood circulation and metabolism, includes a sole; an insole placed on top the sole, which has a plurality of magnet cavities formed and distributed thereon; a shoe body rigidly attached on top of the sole to define a foot chamber between the shoe body and the insole; a plurality of base magnet elements fittingly received in the magnet cavities respectively provided on the insole; and a plurality of upper magnet elements embedded inside the shoe body with respect to the positions of the base magnet elements located on the insole, wherein each of the upper magnet elements is arranged to constitute a transversal magnetic field penetrating through the foot chamber and flowing towards one of the base magnet elements. Moreover, the sole further has at least a medicine receiving cavity to receive a medicine unit which contains a medicine tablet made of painkiller or Chinese medical herb being incased therein. The medicine unit further includes a bottom magnet element positioned thereunder so as to produce magnetic filed around the medicine unit.
