    摘要: An in-cylinder pressure detection device which is capable of ensuring stable detection accuracy irrespective of tightening torque applied in mounting the in-cylinder pressure detection device and thermal expansion of component parts of the same. A housing 21 has a top wall 22a and a bottom wall 22b opposed to each other, and is screwed into the body of an internal combustion engine. An inner member 24 extends through the housing 21 such that one end thereof projects into a cylinder C, and has a flange part 24b accommodated in the housing 21. A first piezoelectric element 11c is accommodated in the housing 21 and sandwiched between the bottom wall 22b and the flange part 24b in a preloaded state, for outputting a first detection signal q1 according to the in-cylinder pressure transmitted via the inner member 24. A second piezoelectric element 12c is accommodated in the housing 21 and sandwiched between the top wall 22a and the flange part 24b in a preloaded state, for outputting a second detection signal q2 according to the in-cylinder pressure transmitted via the inner member 24.

    摘要: A combustion state detecting apparatus is provided for an engine having internal pressure sensor for detecting an internal pressure of a combustion chamber of the engine and crank angle detector for detecting a crank angle of the engine. The apparatus calculates a volume of the combustion chamber based on the crank angle detected by the crank angle detector and estimator for estimating a motoring pressure of the engine in accordance with a calculation equation using the calculated volume. The apparatus adjusts either of the pressure detected by the internal pressure sensor and the pressure estimated by the estimator during a compression stroke of the engine to minimize the error between the detected pressure and the estimated pressure. The apparatus determines a combustion state during a combustion stroke of the engine based on a relation between the pressure adjusted and the other pressure. The apparatus identifies parameters of the calculation equation during a compression stroke of the engine to minimize the error between the pressure detected by the internal pressure sensor and the pressure estimated by the estimator.

    摘要: The present invention provides a spin-valve magnetoresistance sensor in which are formed, on top of the substrate, free layers, and pinned layers, enclosing a nonmagnetic spacer layer, and an antiferromagnetic layer adjacent to the pinned layers. The sensor is also equipped with a back layer including at least two nonmagnetic metal layers adjacent to the free layers on the side of the free layers opposite the nonmagnetic spacer layer. The back layer has at least one nonmagnetic metal layer of Cu with high electrical conductivity, preferably formed adjacent to the free layers, as for example in a two-layer structure of Cu and Ru or a three-layer structure Ru/Cu/Ru. In addition to a high read output, fluctuations in Hint with the film thickness of the back layer can be suppressed and sensor characteristics stabilized, and high recording densities can be realized.

    摘要: There are provided an adsorption amount sensor which is capable of accurately detecting an amount of hydrocarbons or water adsorbed by a zeolite of a hydrocarbon adsorber, even during operation of an engine, as well as a coking sensor which is capable of accurately detecting an amount of coke deposition on inner surfaces of a pipe of an internal combustion engine, even during operation of an engine. The adsorption amount sensor has a plurality of electrodes arranged in the vicinity of the hydrocarbon adsorber in a manner opposed to each other and each carrying a zeolite thereon. The amount of hydrocarbons adsorbed is detected by using a parameter indicative of changes in at least one of a resistance value between the electrodes and an electrical capacitance between the electrodes. The coking sensor has a plurality of electrodes arranged within the pipe of the engine in a manner opposed to each other and each having a surface thereof coated with an insulating material. The amount of coke deposition is detected by using a parameter indicative of changes in at least one of a resistance value between the electrodes and an electrical capacitance between the electrodes.
