摘要: A plasma arcing sensor is used to increase the frequency of plasma arcing by way of neutralization of positive charges and negative charges. When the plasma arcing can be predicted, the process parameters to prevent from the plasma arcing can be carried out. The plasma arcing sensor comprises a top conductive layer formed over a substrate. A conductive layer is disposed between the top conductive layer and the wafer where the conductive layer and the top conductive layer are electrically isolated with dielectrics.

摘要: There are provided an adsorption amount sensor which is capable of accurately detecting an amount of hydrocarbons or water adsorbed by a zeolite of a hydrocarbon adsorber, even during operation of an engine, as well as a coking sensor which is capable of accurately detecting an amount of coke deposition on inner surfaces of a pipe of an internal combustion engine, even during operation of an engine. The adsorption amount sensor has a plurality of electrodes arranged in the vicinity of the hydrocarbon adsorber in a manner opposed to each other and each carrying a zeolite thereon. The amount of hydrocarbons adsorbed is detected by using a parameter indicative of changes in at least one of a resistance value between the electrodes and an electrical capacitance between the electrodes. The coking sensor has a plurality of electrodes arranged within the pipe of the engine in a manner opposed to each other and each having a surface thereof coated with an insulating material. The amount of coke deposition is detected by using a parameter indicative of changes in at least one of a resistance value between the electrodes and an electrical capacitance between the electrodes.

摘要: In a catalytic sensor, a bead is located within a can having an aperture in its front surface. The bead is surrounded by thermally insulating material such as glass fiber and a filter material is arranged between the bead and the aperture in the can. This acts to remove H2S or other inhibiting gases before they reach the bead and impair its performance. The thermally insulating material allows the filter material to be included whilst still permitting the bead to be operated at a high temperature.

摘要: An apparatus for detecting chemicals in a fluid includes a preconcentrator tube connected to a bi-directional pump and to a detector. The preconcentrator tube contains a sorbent material in thermal contact with a heating element. The bi-directional pump pumps fluid in a first direction through the sorbent material, thereby causing some of the chemicals to accumulate on one side of the sorbent material. The bi-directional pump is reversed so as to pump fluid in a second opposite direction, thereby causing the accumulated chemicals to be carried to the detector. The sorbent material is heated while the bi-directional pump is reversed. Preferably, the detector is equipped with a separate pump that draws fluid to the detector.
