Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for developing a curated transcription of an acoustic experience containing spoken words. The technique includes computing a first metric for a word based on biomarkers associated with the user, where the metric indicates an attentional state of a user perceiving the word during an auditory experience. The technique further includes computing a second metric corresponding to an intelligibility of the word during the auditory experience. The technique also includes computing a third metric corresponding to an importance of the word in a context of other proximate words during the auditory experience. Based on a weighting assigned to each of the first, second and third metric, the technique includes determining whether to transcribe the word on a display.

Abstract: An audio system customizes presentation of audio content to a user based on biometric data of the user. Biometric data includes characteristics of the user's voice, the user's heart rate, the user's blood pressure, or other physiological data. From the biometric data of the user, the audio system determines a communication energy score for the user and retrieves one or more audio parameters for the location. The audio system updates one or more audio functions (e.g., noise suppression, beamforming, what audio is retrieved, etc.) based on the audio parameters determined for the communication energy score from the user's biometric data and modifies audio presented to the user based on the updated audio functions. The audio system may be integrated into a headset or another wearable device.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method may include capturing, by a computing device, a current position of a wearable device and a current position of user eye gaze at a current time. The method may also include determining that a user eye gaze is at a fixation position based on a speed of gaze movement. Additionally, the method may include calculating a direction of cursor movement by comparing a current cursor position with a previous cursor position at a previous time. Furthermore, the method may include calculating a likelihood of the fixation position being a target cursor position based on a difference between the direction of cursor movement and a direction from the current cursor position to the fixation position. Finally, the method may include increasing a speed of cursor movement toward the fixation position based on the likelihood. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for multi-stream video encoding may include (i) identifying a video stream that includes a static element that changes less frequently between video frames relative to at least one dynamic element within the video stream that changes more frequently between video frames, (ii) extracting data representing the static element from the video stream, (iii) encoding the data representing the static element as a higher-quality video stream having a higher quality relative to a separate, lower-quality video stream of encoded data representing the dynamic element within the video stream, and (iv) transmitting, to a receiving device, the higher-quality video stream and lower-quality video stream in a manner that enables the higher-and lower-quality video streams to be recombined on the receiving device. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
