    Abstract: A port assembly includes a housing with an opening and a bore therethrough, a slit septum disposed in the opening to control access through the opening, a base joined to the housing and having a membrane attached thereto, a perforator having a first end abutting the slit septum and a second end aligned with the membrane, and a resilient member disposed between the perforator and the base. The perforator has first and second lumens, the first lumen extending between the first and second ends of the perforator and the second lumen extending between a point between the first and second ends and the second end. The perforator also has a seal disposed about the first lumen at the first end of the perforator, and a valve associated with the second lumen to limit flow of fluid through the second lumen in the direction of the second end.

    Abstract: A puncture free bottle cork has a body and a cap for covering a bottle opening. The body has at least one channel defined therein for receiving a syringe or an infusion bottle connector. The body is composed of an exterior body and a flange integrally formed with and extending downward from the exterior body for direct insertion of the bottle opening. The number of the at least one channel corresponds to number of the syringe or the infusion bottle connector such that when the number of the at least one channel is one, injection and drawing of medication to/from the bottle is using the single one channel and when the number of the at least one channel is plural, injection and drawing of medication to/from the bottle is using different channels.

    Abstract: A vial adaptor configured to be attached to a wide range of vial sizes, the adaptor being configured to penetrate the vial seal so that the contents of a vial can be removed. The vial adaptor can have a body portion, a penetrating portion projecting from the body portion and configured to be inserted through the seal and positioned within an interior space of the vial so that the contents of the vial can flow through an opening in the penetrating portion, an interface portion supported by the body portion that is connectable to a syringe or other medical implement, at least one deflectable tab configured be bendable by hand or to bend in response to contact with the vial. The vial can also have a filtered air vent to allow air to fill the vial as the contents thereof are being removed.

    Abstract: A medicament transport system includes a syringe adapter assembly; and a vial adapter assembly including a base defining an opening having a seal member disposed therewithin, a stem extending from the base and defining a lumen therethrough and an opening through a wall thereof, a needle shuttle valve slidably disposed within the lumen of the stem and supporting a transfer needle and a vacuum needle; and a vacuum cup slidably supported on the stem, wherein a vacuum chamber is defined in the space between the base, the stem and the vacuum cup. The medicament transport system includes a condition where the transfer needle and the vacuum needles penetrate the seal member of the vial adapter assembly, and the vacuum cup is moved to draw a vacuum through the vacuum needle. An automation system is provided that utilizes a medicament transport system for forming a medicament solution from a liquid/non-liquid solution.

    Abstract: Some medicaments, such as botulinum toxin, are sold in small glass vials with a cap that comprises a seal. The seal is punctured to allow liquid to be added to reconstitute the medicament, then allow the medicament to be withdrawn through a needle into a syringe. A substantially larger amount of a liquid medicament may be obtained by using an adaptor device. An adaptor device may have a puncture component that allows a flexible tube to be inserted through the seal at an angle that allows an end of a flexible tube to rest on the bottom on a vial around the edge of the vial. This may allow vial to be tipped so that the liquid pools around the end of the flexible tube, thus significantly increasing the amount of liquid that can be withdrawn.

    Abstract: A transfer guard may provide a fluid path from a vial to a reservoir containing a plunger head connected to a plunger arm operatively engagable with a handle that at least partially covers a casing configured to allow the handle to operatively engage the plunger arm to move the plunger head to transfer fluidic media from the vial to the reservoir.A support structure may have a chamber, a first adapter for mating with a vial containing fluidic media, and a second adapter for mating with a reservoir containing a plunger head moveable within the reservoir.
