Abstract:
A damper includes a housing and a rotor. A portion of the rotor extends outwardly of the housing and has a gear rotatably disposed thereon. A coil spring encircles the portion of the rotor, and has an end segment secured to the gear. Rotation of the gear in one direction tightens the grip of the spring on the rotor, and rotation of the gear in the opposite direction loosens the grip of the spring on the rotor.
Abstract:
A clutch mechanism includes means for rotating a second rotational member integrally with a first rotational member, the means for rotating includes a collar member installed near the second end of the operating spring, and at least one braking member rotatably disposed generating biasing force containing an element in a radial direction relative to a circumferential slidable contact surface of the collar member. The braking member includes an engaging portion configured to engage the second edge of the operating spring therewith.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a synchronous motor driven adjustment device is used in motor vehicles by means of an electronic control, especially for controlling adjustment devices with an anti-trap protection and/or with an excess force limitation. The method includes evaluating variables correlating to the dynamics of the adjusting device or the position of the adjustment member and generating control signals based on the variables, controlling the adjustment rate of the adjustment member to a constant value, and setting a phase displacement between an exciting field and a rotating field of the motor to provide torque to the drive unit based on the load angle at which the torque reaches a maximum.
Abstract:
A linear actuator includes a housing, a spindle rotatable in both directions, a threaded nut driving a piston rod, and a motor capable of driving the spindle through a transmission, a disengagement unit being arranged in the transmission for interrupting the connection between the motor and the spindle in case of operational failure, such as overloading of the spindle, the disengagement unit comprising brake means adjustable with respect to the actuator housing to cooperate with coupling means for control of the rotational speed of the spindle when this is disengaged from the motor. The linear actuator provides an emergency function ensuring that the linear actuator and the carried load are not damaged by overloading of the actuator.
Abstract:
This motorized reduction gear includes a toothed wheel (1) for driving an output member mounted on its hub (4), and one or more damping springs (6) interposed between the wheel (1) and the output member; the damping spring(s) (6) is(are) flat and metal and formed of two flexible branches (7) which are symmetrical with one another with respect to a median plane; each branch includes a convolution, a first section (8) of which extends around the hub (4), is extended by a fold (11), and a second section (9) terminated by a radial segment (12), a flat (13) for bearing on a rib (17) of the wheel (1), and a claw (14) for holding the spring in the wheel (1), around the hub (4). When the window pane comes to rest in abutment at the end of its path, one of the branches (7) is compressed and moves closer to the other, damping out the halting in the rotation of the toothed wheel (1). This(these) spring(s) has(have) a small overall size and high operational stability.
Abstract:
An automotive vehicle door assembly includes a door window mechanism which is powered by an electric motor. The electric motor is located within the body of the vehicle and not within the door assembly to simplify the construction of the door assembly and allow for additional structure to support side impact loading. The drive motor and the door window mechanism include driving and driven fittings, respectively, which engage when the vehicle door is closed.
Abstract:
In a position detector, a ring gear rotates with a motor output shaft and a specified rotation position is detected by a move contact and fixed contacts. When the output shaft rotates thereafter, holding a carrier by a wave washer is released and the transmission of rotation of the output shaft to the ring gear is dropped. Therefore, by rotating the output shaft sufficiently at the time of assembling, an initial state, in which a protrusion section abuts a protrusion and the move contact contacts the fixed contact, is set automatically.
Abstract:
A door controlling device for opening and closing a door in a wall has a first arm, one end of which is mounted to the wall and the other end of which is pivotally attached to the second end of a second arm. The first end of the second arm is pivotally attached to the top of a door and is adapted for rotation about a horizontal axis at the first end thereof. An electric motor attached to the device has a shaft which drives a gear train, and an output shaft of the gear train is connected to the input end of an electrically operated clutch. The output shaft of the clutch is connected to the first end of one of the arms such that upon the simultaneous engagement of the clutch and the energizing of the motor, that arm will be rotated about the horizontal axis at the first end and will cause the door to be opened or closed. Also, a current measuring device for determining whether the motor is drawing on excessive amount of electric current, a door open sensor for generating a signal when the door is in a fully opened position, and a door closed sensor for generating a signal when the door is in a fully closed position are all connected to a computer to control the opening and closing of a door.
Abstract:
A window regulator includes a rotatable hub that is coupled to a traveller by a cable, such that rotation of the hub raises and lowers the traveller. The hub is mounted on a driven gear which is rotated by a drive gear. The hub and the driven gear are concentrically mounted around a post, which defines an outer surface that is frictionally engaged by a coil spring that is coupled both to the driven gear and to the hub. The coil spring brakes rotation of the hub when the traveller is pushed downwardly. The drive gear and its associated bushings are removably mounted on the window regulator to allow easy replacement.
Abstract:
A fixed torque spring clutch has first and second rotors. The torque of the first rotor is transmitted to the second rotor via a coil spring. The second rotor is coaxial with the first rotor. A shaft section is provided on one of the rotors. A plurality of catch sections are provided on the other rotor. The coil spring is mounted over the shaft section. The two ends of the coil spring are caught by the catch sections in a clamping state of the clutch. The coil spring has a first clamping section for clamping the shaft section with a predetermined clamping force when the coil spring is mounted over the shaft section, and a second clamping section having a clearance with respect to the corresponding part of the shaft section when the coil spring is mounted thereon.
