Abstract: A heating device for a floor includes a membrane, a plurality of heating elements attached to the membrane, at least one positively charged electrode attached to each of the heating elements and at least one negatively charged electrode attached to each of the heating elements, where the at least one positively charged electrode and the at least one negatively charged electrode are connected to an electrical power source and supply electrical power to the heating elements. The heating elements, the at least one positively charged electrode and the at least one negatively charged electrode are arranged on the membrane so that cutting of the membrane along a cutting line in any direction across the membrane does not disrupt the supply of electrical power to the heating elements.

Abstract: A slurry distributor includes a feed conduit and a distribution conduit in fluid communication therewith. Abstract: A ball drop iris is provided for use in a ball drop testing apparatus. Included on the iris is a lower housing having an upper mounting flange having a ball opening and a body depending from the flange, the body defining a passage through which a test ball passes. A control ring is disposed on the upper mounting surface for sliding, rotating action relative to the lower housing. A plurality of iris petals is provided, each operationally connected to the control ring and to the upper mounting flange to pivot between a closed position in which the ball opening is blocked, and an open position in which the petals are simultaneously retracted and the opening is clear for passage of a test ball.

Abstract: A combined wooden frame support and ceiling system is provided, each support including upper and lower wooden chords and a wooden structure connecting the lower chord to the upper chord for weight bearing purposes. A gypsum wallboard batten strip is attached to the lower chord, and defining a ledge extending from each side of the lower chord. A single thickness of gypsum wallboard panels is used to create a ceiling attached to the support, each panel used to create the ceiling is made from a slurry composition including less than 5% by weight of Grade 4 vermiculite. Upon the support being assembled in the ceiling system, with a plurality of the supports, and having lengths of insulation supported by the ledges of the adjacent supports, the ceiling system resists charring by fire for at least one hour.
