Abstract: Disclosed are a metal single-atom catalyst and a method for preparing the same. The method uses a minimal amount of chemicals and is thus environmentally friendly compared to conventional chemical and/or physical methods. In addition, the method enables the preparation of a single-atom catalyst in a simple and economical manner without the need for further treatment such as acid treatment or heat treatment. Furthermore, the method is universally applicable to the preparation of single-atom catalysts irrespective of the kinds of metals and supports, unlike conventional methods that suffer from very limited choices of metal materials and supports. Therefore, the method can be widely utilized to prepare various types of metal single-atom catalysts. All metal atoms in the metal single-atom catalyst can participate in catalytic reactions. This optimal atom utilization achieves maximum reactivity per unit mass and can minimize the amount of the metal used, which is very economical.

Abstract: To study the mechanism of βig-h3 modulation of the anti-tumoral immune response in pancreatic cancer, Inventors took advantage of engineered mouse models of spontaneous pancreatic neoplasia and cancer to evaluate the effect of depleting βig-h3 on the modulation of anti-tumor immunity and its subsequent impact on tumour growth alone and in combination with an immune checkpoint inhibitor. This association proved to be effective in vivo in this model showing a synergic effect of the therapeutic combination. Accordingly, the present invention relates to a combination of (i) an immune checkpoint inhibitor, and (ii) a βig-h3 antagonist, for simultaneous or sequential use in the treatment of a patient suffering from solid tumor, e.g. a pancreatic cancer. The present invention also provides a βig-h3 antagonist, for use in a method for enhancing sensitivity of a patient suffering from a solid tumor to an immune checkpoint inhibitor.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a honeycomb metal structure includes providing a substrate comprising iron (Fe) and a container containing water; coating at least a part of the substrate with a viscid material whose viscidity is increased by moisture; attaching metal powder onto the viscid material; adhering the metal powder to the substrate due to an increase in viscidity of the viscid material by evaporating a portion of the water in the container and supplying moisture to the viscid material; and generating an uneven structure made of the metal powder bonded to the substrate by performing a heat treatment on the substrate to which the metal powder is adhered. The heat treatment may include performing a first heat treatment on the substrate to generate an intermetallic layer at an interface between the substrate and the metal powder; and performing a second heat treatment to dissolve the intermetallic compound layer.

Abstract: Proposed is an iridium alloy catalyst having reversible catalytic activity for an oxygen evolution reaction (OER), a hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and a hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) by including an iridium alloy including iridium (Ir) and nickel (Ni). The iridium alloy catalyst according to the present disclosure is rapidly converted to an iridium alloy catalyst in an oxide form and an iridium alloy catalyst in a metallic form according to applied voltage by controlling its crystallinity. Thus, even in case an oxide layer is formed after the OER, the oxidation layer disappears during the HER and HOR and the properties of an iridium metal catalyst remain, thereby maintaining HER/HOR performance.
