Abstract: Methods and systems, including medium-encoded computer program products, for generating internal structures usable in additive manufacturing include: obtaining a three-dimensional (3D) model of an object to be created by a 3D printer; determining a first slice of the 3D model; and generating first slice data that represents a portion of an internal structure in the first slice of the 3D model of the object, the slice data being usable for fabricating the first slice of the object during a 3D printing process, wherein the portion of the internal structure (i) includes cell structures corresponding to a respective point of a plurality of points with corresponding locations within the interior region, wherein each of the cell structures include an empty space inside the cell structure and (ii) includes a determined quantity of the cell structures based on an analysis of the 3D model.

Abstract: A subtask assignment system for assisting groups of workers to complete a task more efficiently. The task may comprise a physical assembly task of an object. The physical assembly task comprises a plurality of subtasks that must each be completed to complete the physical assembly task. The subtask assignment system may include an assignment server connected to a plurality of user devices via a network, each user device being operated by a particular worker. The assignment server may execute an assignment engine that receives inputs describing the overall task and group of workers, generates a task model representing the task based on the inputs, populates a parameters table based on the inputs, and automatically determines subtask assignments for the group of workers based on the task model and the parameters table. The assignment server determines an optimal subtask to assign to each worker based on the parameters.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for merging intersecting meshes of primitives. The technique involves determining an intersection boundary that is defined by an intersection between a first mesh of primitives and a second mesh of primitives. The technique further involves determining that a first plurality of primitives included in the first mesh of primitives and a second plurality of primitives included in the second mesh of primitives are proximate to the intersection boundary. The technique further involves removing the first plurality of primitives to form a first mesh boundary associated with the first mesh and removing the second plurality of primitives to form a second mesh boundary associated with the second mesh. Finally, the technique involves connecting a first plurality of vertices associated with the first mesh boundary to a second plurality of vertices associated with the second mesh boundary to form a joined boundary.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention disclosed herein provide techniques for generating a design autocomplete recommendation. The techniques include determining one or more first components included in a first design. The techniques further include analyzing, via the processor, a plurality of designs included in a database to select a second design that includes one or more second components that correspond to the one or more first components. The techniques further include selecting, via a processor, one or more third components included in the second design that are not included in the first design. The techniques further include causing an autocomplete recommendation that includes the one or more third components to be output.

Abstract: Techniques and systems for enhancing vertical edges during photopolymer-based three-dimensional (3D) printing are described. A described technique includes accessing an original image corresponding to a slice of a 3D model prepared for printing on a 3D printer; accessing a pixel reduction factor that is associated with an increased exposure duration parameter; classifying pixels of the original image; reducing intensity levels of the interior pixels by the pixel reduction factor so that corresponding printing areas receive first curing doses under the increased exposure duration parameter and the reduced intensity levels that are comparable to doses received under an unmodified exposure duration parameter and unreduced intensity levels; maintaining intensity levels of the exterior pixels so that corresponding printing areas receive second curing doses under the increased exposure duration parameter that are greater than doses associated with the unmodified exposure duration parameter; and outputting a resulting modified image for 3D printing.

Abstract: Via no-handed inputs to a smartwatch, an end-user can initiate various smartwatch operations when either or both hands of the end-user are occupied. The smartwatch includes a suite of sensors for capturing inertial, acoustic, and optical data. The smartwatch also interfaces with a handheld mobile computing device and/or a shoe-mounted pedometry device to capture additional sensor data. A control engine executing on the smartwatch processes captured sensor data and identifies no-handed inputs performed by the end-user. The control engine maps these no-handed inputs to specific commands that can be executed on the smartwatch to initiate smartwatch operations.
