Abstract: A controller circuit (24) for processing video data for an active matrix liquid crystal display device has processing circuitry for performing correction functions on the input video data (D) prior to being supplied to the drive circuit (22) of the display device comprising gamma and color correction, and correction for reducing motion blur in the display picture. The correction circuits (35, 36) are organized such that correction for motion blur reduction (36) is carried out before the gamma and color corrections (35), which enables a beneficial decrease in semiconductor area required when implementing the circuitry in IC form through the size of field store (30) and LUT (32) components used for this function then being smaller. Gamma and color corrections are performed together using a single LUT. Correction for kickback may further be included, such correction preferably being arranged after the gamma and color corrections and using a separate LUT.

Abstract: A short range communications system in which transmitted signals are distorted by multipath effects and non-linear characteristics of circuit elements and cause constellation errors in a received signal. Abstract: In a CELP coder a comparison between a target signal and a plurality of synthetic signals is made. The synthetic signal is derived by filtering a plurality of excitation sequences by a synthesis filter having parameters derived from the target signal. The excitation signal which results in a minimum error between the target signal and the synthetic signal is selected. The search for the best excitation signal requires a substantial computational complexity. To reduce the complexity a preselection of a small number of excitation sequences is made by selecting a small number of excitation sequences resembling the most a backward filtered target signal. With this small number of excitation sequences a full complexity search is made. Due to the reduced number of excitation sequences involved in the final selection the required computational complexity is reduced.

Abstract: Inner trenches (11) of a trenched Schottky rectifier (1a; 1b; 1c; 1d) bound a plurality of rectifier areas (43a) where the Schottky electrode (3) forms a Schottky barrier 43 with a drift region (4). Abstract: In the manufacture of a trench-gate semiconductor device, for example a MOSFET or an IGBT, a starting semiconductor body (10) has two top layers (13, 15) provided for forming the source and body regions.
