In certain aspects, the authentication request may include at least a first signed certificate and a first generated value. The apparatus may transmit an authentication response to the at least one second AP using the communication link based on the 1905.1 protocol. In certain aspects, the authentication response may include at least a second signed certificate and a second generated value. The apparatus may determine shared information with the at least one second AP based at least in part on the first generated value and the second generated value.
Abstract:
Techniques and apparatus for wake-up radio (WUR) operations are provided. One technique includes communicating with one or more wireless devices via a first radio operating on a first channel. A WUR is operated on a second channel different from the first channel. A wireless device may receive an indication of the second channel to use for monitoring for WUR transmission, and monitor for a WUR transmission on the second channel after receiving the indication.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for wireless communication are provided. In one configuration, an apparatus is configured to transmit a wake-up radio (WUR) signal, to determine to transmit a second signal within a SIFS after transmitting the WUR signal to increase medium reuse, and to transmit the second signal within the SIFS after transmitting the WUR signal based on the determination. The second signal may be a data, management, control, ACK, or CF-end frame to enable legacy devices that do not decode the WUR signal to avoid wasted airtime cause by EIFS after the WUR signal. In another configuration, the apparatus is configured to transmit a CTS-to-self frame, to determine to transmit a second signal within a SIFS after transmitting the CTS-to-self frame, and to transmit the second signal based on the determination. The second signal may be a WUR signal or an intermediate signal followed by a WUR signal.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to specifying possible default spatial reuse (SR) modes and signaling of the default spatial reuse modes. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications. The method generally includes generating a frame that provides an indication, to a secondary recipient of the frame, of how to use spatial reuse (SR) information and transmitting the frame. Another provided method for wireless communications generally includes receiving, from a first node, a first frame that provides an indication of how to use spatial reuse (SR) information, determining if a signal strength of the first frame exceeds a threshold, generating a second frame for transmission to a second node, and if the signal strength of the first frame does not exceed the threshold, transmitting the second frame during a period when the first frame is being transmitted.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In an aspect, the apparatus is configured to receive at least one frame from at least one wireless device and to generate a BA frame that may include a block ACK bitmap based on the received at least one frame. The BA frame may include a fragment number field and a bitmap length indicator within the fragment number field that indicates a length of the block ACK bitmap within the BA frame. The apparatus may be configured to transmit the generated BA frame to the at least one wireless device.
Abstract:
In some examples, a method includes receiving, at a second device of a data link group of a neighbor aware network (NAN), a message including an indication of whether a first device corresponding to a particular service is available during a particular time period during which devices of the data link group are configured to operate in an active operating mode. The method also includes transitioning to a low-power operating mode during one or more transmission windows corresponding to the particular time period in response to determining that the first device is unavailable during the particular time period.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for polling for data by a wireless device. Certain aspects of the present disclosure providing a method performed by the wireless device. The method generally includes receiving a polling frame from at least one wireless device. The polling frame can include an indication of a service period during which the access point may deliver multiple protocol data units (PDUs) to the wireless device in response to the polling frame. The indication of the service period is provided as a value relative to a local clock synchronized between the wireless device and the access point. The method generally also includes transmitting the multiple PDUs to the wireless device during the service period, in response to the polling frame. The access point can receive the polling frame and transmit the multiple PDUs during the service period, in response to the polling frame.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus is configured to determine a schedule for communicating data in a NAN network. The apparatus is configured to communicate data over a data link within the NAN network based on the determined schedule.
Abstract:
Techniques for proving enterprise mode security for relays are disclosed. For example, enterprise mode security based on IEEE 802.1x is provided for relays or other similar devices to extend the coverage of access point hotspots or other similar access point use cases. According to one aspect, a relay incorporates an authentication client associated with an authentication server. According to another aspect, a four address format is employed for tunneling messages via a relay between a station and an access point. According to another aspect, a cryptographic master key associated with an access point and a station is provided to a relay to enable the relay to be an authenticator for the station.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for efficient ranging, for example, in a neighbor aware network (NAN). According to certain aspects, an apparatus for wireless communications is provided. The apparatus generally includes a processing system configured to determine a period that at least one second apparatus is scheduled to be awake, generate a first frame for transmission to the second apparatus during the period, determine ranging information based on a time difference between transmission of the first frame and receipt of a second frame in response to the first frame, and generate a third frame including the ranging information; a transmit interface configured to output the first and third frames for transmission; and a receive interface configured to obtain the second frame. By exchanging ranging information in already scheduled wake-up periods and in existing frame, power consumption and signaling overhead may be reduced.
