Abstract: A magnetic rod guide for a filter is provided that includes a base for attachment to part of a filter, a through aperture through which a magnetic rod can move, and resilient engagement device. The resilient engagement device includes one or more resilient latches for holding the magnetic rod in one or more fixed positions relative to the guide. Each resilient latch is adapted to allow movement of the magnetic rod through the through aperture in either direction, for insertion into the flier or withdrawal from the filter into one of the fixed positions.

Abstract: An air filtration system includes a frame directing an airflow through the air filtration system and a media filter disposed in the frame including one or more filtration elements. The system further includes one or more alignment features and one or more sealing elements interactive with the one or more alignment features to prevent incorrect installation of the media filter into the frame. A method of installing a media filter in an air filtration system includes aligning an alignment feature of the media filter with an opening in a frame of the air filtration system and inserting the media filter into the frame. The alignment feature ensures that the media filter is inserted in the frame in a correct orientation.

Abstract: A magnet cleaner cooperates with one or more permanent magnets positioned over a conveyer carrying pieces of metal in non-ferrous material so as to remove the metal from the non-ferrous material. The magnet cleaner includes a frame and a capture sheet mounted to the frame and positioned on the frame so as to be substantially flush with the permanent magnets when they are in their lowered positioned. The magnets are spaced by an attenuation distance from the capture sheet when they are in their raised position. The permanent magnets, which may be mounted in a housing, are positionably mounted on the frame so as to be selectively elevatable between their lowered and raised positions upon actuation of an actuator. The actuator is positioned so as to cooperate with the permanent magnets and the frame so as to raise or lower the magnets relative to the capture sheet.

Abstract: A magnetic separator for a central heating system comprises a housing, a separation chamber within the housing, and inlet and outlet ports extending from the housing. The inlet and outlet ports include push-fit connectors having collets surrounding the mouth of each of the inlet and outlet for releasing the connectors. The magnetic separator also has a release tool. The release tool has first and second bearing areas for bearing against the collets of the inlet and outlet connectors, and a handle region for enabling force to be applied, via the bearing areas, to both connectors simultaneously.
