Abstract: A seat belt retractor for use in seat belt restraint systems. The retractor incorporates dual rotopretensioner units and adaptive load limiting characteristics. Preferably, the rotopretensioners are positioned on opposite ends of a retractor spool for driving the spool for pretensioning rotation. A first pretensioner may be activated alone to provide pretensioning rotation. In one embodiment of the invention, if the second pretensioner is not activated, the system will be engaged to provide a given belt load limiting characteristic. A second rotopretensioner may be fired either after the first pretensioner is fired to increase pay-in capacity or to activate a different load limiting characteristic for the retractor.

Abstract: A block-request streaming system provides for improvements in the user experience and bandwidth efficiency of such systems, typically using an ingestion system that generates data in a form to be served by a conventional file server (HTTP, FTP, or the like), wherein the ingestion system intakes content and prepares it as files or data elements to be served by the file server. A client device can be adapted to take advantage of the ingestion process. The client device might be configured to optimize use of resources, given the information available to it from the ingestion system. This may include configurations to determine the sequence, timing and construction of block requests based on monitoring buffer size and rate of change of buffer size, use of variable sized requests, mapping of block requests to underlying transport connections, flexible pipelining of requests, and/or use of whole file requests based on statistical considerations.

Abstract: A method and a system for processing an HTTP request. There is provided a method for processing an HTTP request, including: receiving an original HTTP request for accessing an instance of an application; modifying a domain name to be accessed; and sending the new HTTP request to a server of the application so as to access the instance of the application, wherein the domain name to be accessed by the original HTTP request and the new domain name correspond to a same IP address. This avoids various problems such as data confusion, data error, and use inconvenience in the related art occurring when a plurality of service instances of a same application run in a same hypertext transfer protocol session. A system for carrying out the above method is also provided.

Abstract: A humidifier for adding humidity to an air stream of an HVAC system includes a housing configured to be mounted to a surface of an HVAC duct. A back side of the housing may be positioned adjacent to an opening in the surface of the HVAC duct, and the housing may be configured to hold a humidifier pad in an operating position. The housing may define a first air flow path from a first side of the humidifier pad to the opening in the surface of the HVAC duct when the housing is mounted to the surface of the HVAC duct. The housing may further define a second air flow path from a second side of the humidifier pad to a bypass aperture. At least part of the second air flow path may be defined by a bypass duct member. The bypass duct member may be field-reconfigurable between at least a first position resulting in the bypass aperture being located at a first location, and a second position resulting in the bypass aperture being located at a second location. In some cases, the first and second locations are on the left and right sides, respectively, of the humidifier housing.
