摘要: A desk-top type computer with a built-in LCD includes a chassis, a planar display attached to the chassis, a mother board attached to the chassis, heat generating portions including a CPU mounted on the mother board, and a memory device electrically connected to the mother board. A heat receiving head is fixed to at least one of the heat generating portions including the CPU, and the head is connected a tube filled with a cooling liquid. The tube is arranged in a serpentine or zigzag shape in a clearance between the chassis and the planar display facing the chassis. The cooling medium liquid circulating in the tube serves as a heat transferring medium to absorb the heat at the heat generating portion, and radiate the heat through the tube disposed in the clearance between the LCD and the chassis.

摘要: A position measuring apparatus includes a light source 1, an illumination optical system 100, a light-reception optical system 400 and a light-receiving unit 500. Illuminating beam emitted from the light source 1 is diffracted by a two-dimensional pattern on an object 10, and then enters the light-reception optical system 400. The light-receiving unit 500 receives diffracted lights consisting of a combination of a higher-order diffracted light appearing on the object side for the zero-order diffracted light in the receive diffracted lights with a zero-order diffracted light different in frequency from the higher-order diffracted light and another combination of higher-order diffracted lights different in frequency from one another and appearing on the object side for the zero-order diffracted light, thereby forming a position measuring interference measurement signal within the plane including the object. A signal processing unit is adapted to measure the position of the object 10 based on the phase of the position measuring interference measurement signal.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method of detecting an end point of plasma process performed on an object, and a plasma process apparatus. The method includes the steps of detecting an emission spectrum over a wavelength region specific to C.sub.2 in the plasma, by optical detecting means, and determining the end point of the plasma process from the emission intensity of the emission spectrum detected by the optical detector. The apparatus has a process chamber, a pair of electrodes, a light-collecting device, an optical detector, and a determining device. The chamber has a monitor window. The electrodes are located in the process chamber. The first electrode is used to support the object. A high-frequency power is supplied between the electrodes to change a process gas into plasma. The light-collecting device collects the light from the plasma through the monitor window. The optical detector detects an emission spectrum from the light collected. The determining device determines the end point of the plasma process from the emission intensity of the emission spectrum detected. The monitor window is secured to the distal end of a cylindrical member protruding from the chamber. The member has a narrow gas passage for trapping a gas generated by the plasma process.
