摘要: Methods and systems for neurostimulation and/or neurotelemetry of electrically-excitable biological tissue. In one embodiment, a method includes providing a radio frequency output to a diode implanted in biological tissue. The radio frequency output cause current to flow in the diode that is sufficient to provide neurostimulation. Additionally, a radio frequency receiver is configured to receive a second harmonic signal from the diode, which can be used to control the radio frequency output.

摘要: Devices and methods for tunable RF filtering. Multiple bimodal filter stages are used within a filter device to provide for tunable frequency response of the filter device. The use of M sequential bimodal filter stages, each having different frequency resolutions, may allow for 2M possible modes of operation.

摘要: The present invention provides a horizontally depleted Metal Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MESFET). A drain region, a source region, and a channel region are formed in the device layer such that the drain region and the source region are spaced apart from one another and the channel region extends between the drain region and the source region. First and second gate contacts are formed in the device layer on either side of the channel region, and as such, the first and second gate contacts will also reside between opposing portions of the source and drain regions. With this configuration, voltages applied to the first and second gate contacts effectively control vertical depletion regions, which form on either side of the channel region.

摘要: Methods for generating an image mosaic are provided. In one respect, pixels saliency of a first image and a second image are determined. One salient pixel may be selected from the determined pixels saliency group of the first image and one salient pixel may be selected from the determined pixels saliency group of the second image. A mosaicking technique of the first and second image may be performed if the one salient pixel of the first image and the one salient pixel of the second image are registered successfully.

摘要: The invention provides methods which can be applied during the epitaxial growth of two or more layers of Group III-nitride semiconductor materials so that the qualities of successive layer are successively improved. In preferred embodiments, surface defects interact with a protective layer of a protective material to form amorphous complex regions capable of preventing the further propagation of defects and dislocations. The invention also includes semiconductor structures fabricated by these methods.

摘要: Various apparatuses and methods for producing ammonia are provided. One embodiment uses a plurality of environments and an electrode configured to be exposed to the plurality of environments. The electrode is configured to receive hydrogen while being exposed to one of the environments, reduce nitrogen while being exposed to another environment, and allow the hydrogen and nitrogen to react with each other to form ammonia. Other embodiments provide for simultaneous hydrogen oxidation and nitrogen reduction at the same electrode, which in turn react for formation of ammonia.

摘要: Fuel cell designs and techniques for converting chemical energy into electrical energy uses a fuel cell are disclosed. The designs and techniques include an anode to receive fuel, a cathode to receive oxygen, and an electrolyte chamber in the fuel cell, including an electrolyte medium, where the electrolyte medium includes an inorganic salt mixture in the fuel cell. The salt mixture includes pre-determined quantities of at least two salts chosen from a group consisting of ammonium trifluoromethanesulfonate, ammonium trifluoroacetate, and ammonium nitrate, to conduct charge from the anode to the cathode. The fuel cell includes an electrical circuit operatively coupled to the fuel cell to transport electrons from the cathode.
