    摘要: A biomedical haemostatic powder dispenser (1) by which individual doses of powdered medication that are stored in respective chambers of a rotatable carousel (22) are fluidized for delivery to a targeted treatment site (e.g., a wound in order to stop bleeding). In particular, a squeeze handle (7) is activated (i.e., depressed) so as to cause a blast of gas under pressure to be applied from a gas reservoir (30) to a particular one of the powder-filled chambers of the medication carousel so that a single measured dose of medication is entrained and delivered to the patient. At the same time that the squeeze handle is activated, the medication carousel is rotated so that a different powder-filled chamber is moved within a fluid path between the gas reservoir and an outlet nozzle tube (10) of the dispenser and a kit for dispensing a powder.

    摘要: An electric power generation system may be constructed of multiple similar generator modules arranged between a rotor and a stator. The rotor may be coupled to and/or integrated with a turbine that is configured to rotate in the presence of a fluid stream such as wind or water. Each generator module may have a rotor portion configured to generate a magnetic field having at least one characteristic that changes with respect to the rotational speed of the rotor. Each generator module may further have a stator portion configured to generate an alternating electric current responsive to the magnetic field. The generated electric current may be controlled by the stator portion of the generator module in order to magnetically control the rotational speed of the rotor and the turbine. Separation between the rotor and stator portions of the generator module may be magnetically maintained.

    摘要: A clamping apparatus for engaging a pair of abutting flanges from a pair of pipes has a pivot end of a first clamp portion pivotally joined to a pivot end of a second clamp portion by a pivot pin, such that the first and second clamp portions may be mutually rotated into an open attitude for enabling one of the first and second clamp portions to be placed in contact with the abutting flanges. The pivot pin then enables the first and second clamp portions to be alternately mutually rotated into a closed attitude for enabling the other of the first and second clamp portions to be placed in contact with the abutting flanges, the clamping portions thereby being drawn into mutually opposing positions so as to place a clamp end of each of the clamp portions in mutual proximity. The clamping apparatus further includes a rocking bolt and rocking nut hingbly attached to one clamp end to removably engage a rocking slot in an opposite clamp end so as to secure the clamp portions in the closed attitude. Finally, the clamping apparatus includes a spring wire that is engaged with the clamping portions such that when the clamping portions are only partially open, the spring wire biases the clamping portions towards the closed attitude, but when the clamping portions are opened substantially, the spring wire biases the clamping portions towards the open attitude.

    摘要: The networked guideway transit system uses materials and methods of constructing guideway elements. The materials and methods are designed to reduce the static weight, cost and physical size of the guideway structure. Installation cost is also significantly reduced by the modular nature of the guideway components, which can be manufactured in a controlled factory environment using mass production methods. As a result, the supporting structure of the guideway can be quickly erected and the modular blocks inserted with simple equipment. In addition, complex alignment procedures are not required. In particular, the guideway component includes motor coils having the shapes and configurations that facilitate the easy insertion of the guideway component without the need for interleaving coils in adjacent guideway components and without creating dead spots in the magnetic fields between guideway components.
