    摘要: Respective glass substrates 1 of a pair of such EL devices 3 are disposed in such a manner that EL element portions 2 formed on their respective front surfaces 1a are opposed to each other. Spacers 4 are disposed between the two glass substrates 1 so that the EL element portions 2 are separated from each other and do not interfere with each other. In this state, peripheral portions of the two glass substrates 1 are bonded to each other with a sealing material 5, whereby a hollow portion 6 formed between the two glass substrates 1 is sealed with the sealing material 5 and isolated from the outside. Then, the two glass substrates 1 that are integrated together are immersed in an etching liquid, that is, they are subjected to thinning processing.

Therefore, the mirror with lighting system has great light intensity without an external lighting when being used as a lighting system as compared to when being used as a mirror, and permits the entire surface to be used as a mirror when the environment is bright.

The first electrode has a first luminescent region and a first terminal extending from the first luminescent region. The first electrode is made of a material having a higher volume resistivity than the second electrode. The organic electroluminescent layer is interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The first luminescent region and the second luminescent region respectively contact the organic electroluminescent layer. A length of a boundary between the first luminescent region and the first terminal is greater than a length of a boundary between the second luminescent region and the second terminal.

    摘要: In a video tape cassette having upper and lower housing portions which are assembled together in a direction normal to a plane of separation therebetween to define a substantially rectangular housing with an opening extending along a side thereof between end walls of the housing for containing reels having tape wound thereon and guided between the reels in a run extending across the opening, and a lid structure which is pivotally mounted on the housing for movement by a coil spring from an open position exposing the tape run to a closed position in which the lid structure covers the tape run; the assembling of the tape cassette is facilitated by providing anchors on the lid structure by which the coil spring is initially or tentatively located during the mounting of the lid structure on one of the housing portions, whereupon the coil spring is transferred into engagement with an anchor on that one housing portion in preparation for assembling of the latter with the other housing portion. The tape cassette is further provided with a reel braking structure which is also easily installed in the direction normal to the plane of separation of the upper and lower housing portions, and which is releasable from the outside of the housing to permit free rotation of the reels.

    摘要: An environmental apparatus control system assures a consistent temperature control for realizing a comfortable residential environment based upon demands from the residents, yet in an energy-saving manner. The system includes an apparatus for controlling a residential space, and an initializer which provides an initial target value for control of the residential space at the start of operating the system. Comfortableness demands from residents are analyzed in order modify the initial target value to a working target value. The initial target value is shifted in a direction of saving the energy such that the working target value can always approach from and settle on the energy-saving side as the demands from the residents are analyzed. The working target values within a past time period are weighted to give a corrected target value which replaces the initial target value for the start of next operation cycle of the system.
