Abstract:
A night vision goggle arrangement includes an assembly for adjusting the position of the goggles relative to a user, means for engaging the assembly with a mounting plate on a helmet, means for locking the assembly to the mounting plate, and release means arranged to unlock and disengage the assembly from the mounting plate.
Abstract:
A method and system are disclosed for co-production of olefins and electric power. The method includes determining a separation level, separating a hydrocarbon feed into a light fraction stream and a heavy fraction stream based on the determined separation level; generating electric power from the heavy fraction stream; and cracking the light fraction stream in a pyrolysis unit to produce an effluent comprising olefins. The separation level may be based on olefin production requirements and electric power requirements or specific split of the hydrocarbon feed to be utilized for power generation and olefin production.
Abstract:
Signal strength and battery level are presented on a display associated with a mobile communications device. A scene is presented on the display, where the scene includes constituent items that collectively convey the battery level and the signal strength. Different states of the constituent items correspond to different states of the battery level and the signal strength. The constituent items together form a representation of a real-world situation.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for filtering electronic communications. One exemplary method includes receiving a first message directed to a user, the first message including a plurality of messaging data; and receiving from the user a selection of the messaging data within the first message. The method further includes adding the selected messaging data to a database in relation to one or more contacts of the user, and receiving a second message directed to the user from at least one of the one or more contacts. The method further includes scanning the second message for the selected messaging data, and filtering, with at least one processor, the second message from delivery to the user if the second message contains the selected messaging data.
Abstract:
Systems, products, and methods are disclosed for presenting signal strength and battery level of a mobile communications device and are provided. The method includes referencing an indication of the battery level, referencing an indication of the signal strength, wherein the signal strength is a strength of a wireless communications signal that the mobile communications device is receiving, determining an applicable scene that is to be used to present the battery level and the signal strength, and presenting the scene on a display of the mobile communications device to convey the battery level and the signal strength.
Abstract:
A chaotic communication system employs transmitting and receiving chaotic oscillating circuits. One improvement to first-generation systems is the ability to modulate a nonreactive element in the transmitting circuit, thus increasing modulation bandwidth. Other features include insertion of a gain control amplifier in a chaotic receiver; signal filtering in chaotic transmitters and receivers; use of chaotic modulation techniques for cellular telephony applications; dual-transmitter and receiver systems; a dual receiver synchronization detector; interfaces to communication systems; analog chaotic signal modulation; use of multiple chaotic transmitters and receivers; digital algorithm improvement using a cube-law nonlinear component; a Gb-only receiver; a Gb-only transmitter; and positive slope transmitter and receiver systems.
Abstract:
A test device for testing relays is provided. The test device includes a chassis and a plurality of generator components removably coupled to the chassis. Each of the plurality of generator components have a signal generator, a CPU to promote test signal generation by the signal generator, and an amplifier to amplify signals generated by the signal generator. The test device also includes a controller coupled to communicate with the plurality of generator components.
Abstract:
A tubular member 12 having an internal and/or external metal thread 18, 20 at one end thereof, at least part of the thread 18, 20 being coated with an alloy of copper and tin, said alloy containing 5 wt % to 95 wt % copper. The tubular member 10 can be combined with another tubular member 14, 16 to provide a threaded connection 10 having improved galling resistance.
Abstract:
A fastening system with an object including a securement structure with an extension element adapted to be compressed by a fastener. A portion of the securement structure extends above a first end of a compression reinforcement device. The extension element is adapted to be compressed by a fastener such that the portion of the securement structure is positioned substantially level with the first end and wherein the compression reinforcement device and the securement structure both receive compressive force from a fastener.
Abstract:
A cargo protecting system for a pickup truck includes a metal support structure that is in a fixed position relative to a pickup truck. A bed floor is fixedly supported by the metal support structure, and the bed floor includes a first support surface for directly supporting cargo, wherein the first support surface is substantially coplanar with a plane. A first chamber is disposed substantially beneath the plane and can be defined by a first shell having first and second openings. The first chamber is accessible from above the plane through the first opening, and the first and second openings can be of sufficient size and dimension to allow the passage of a spare tire. Exemplary embodiments can include a second chamber disposed substantially directly beneath the bed floor and adjacent to the second opening, wherein the second chamber is separate from the first chamber and accessible from the first chamber through the second opening. The second chamber can be configured to provide a storage location directly beneath the bed floor for substantially an entire spare tire. In certain exemplary embodiments, a closure member might be provided along with a securement mechanism and an opening mechanism.
