Abstract:
A threaded connection for pipes includes a pin, a box, a shoulder part plating layer, and a non-shoulder part plating layer. The shoulder part plating layer has an outermost layer formed of a high friction coefficient plating layer, and is arranged on a pin side shoulder part and/or a box side shoulder part. The non-shoulder part plating layer has an outermost layer formed of a low friction coefficient plating layer having a coefficient of friction lower than a coefficient of friction of the high friction coefficient plating layer, and the non-shoulder part plating layer is arranged on at least one of a pin side thread part, a pin side metal seal part, a box side thread part, and a box side metal seal part.
Abstract:
Methods for providing laminated coatings on metal articles using electroplating methods such as barrel plating, vibratory plating, rocker plating or other non-rack methods that involve movement of articles to be plated in a containment apparatus, as well as articles made from such processes. Embodiments of such processes involve mass-transfer modulation to provide compositionally modulated coatings.
Abstract:
Provided is a plating solution for a threaded connection for pipe or tube used for forming a plating film excellent in galling resistance, crevice corrosion resistance, and exposure corrosion resistance. The plating solution for a threaded connection for pipe or tube of the present embodiment contains no cyanide, but contains: a water-soluble copper salt; a water-soluble tin salt; a water-soluble bismuth salt; a free acid; and a thiourea-based compound of 10 g/L or less (excluding 0) that is represented by Chemical Formula (1): X1X2N—C(═S)—NX3X4 (1), where each of X1, X2, X3, and X4 is any one of hydrogen, an alkyl group, an allyl group, a tolyl group, or a group represented by Chemical Formula (2), but excluding that X1, X2, X3, and X4 are all hydrogen: —CH2—CH2—S—CH2—CH2—X5 (2), where X5 is OH or NH2.
Abstract:
The present invention provides for a bolt structure for use with a magnesium alloy member that can insulate between magnesium alloy members and steel or other bolts without lowering the bolt shaft power, and prevent occurrence of electrolytic corrosion with an electrolyte such as water. A cationic electrodeposition coating is also provided for the bolts structure, said coating having a film thickness of 15 μm or more is provided at least on the surface of the magnesium alloy member contacting with a bolt head, a powder coating having a film thickness of 40 to 150 μm is provided on the surface of the cationic electrodeposition coating, zinc-nickel plating and then cosmer treatment are carried out on the bolt, and an alumite-treated aluminum washer is interposed between the bolt head and the magnesium alloy member.
Abstract:
A method for producing a threaded nut of a threaded drive, includes the following steps: a sleeve is produced from a steel sheet which is suitable for case-hardening; a rolling profile for a rolling contact with rolling bodies is molded on the inner circumference of the sleeve, said rolling profile being wound in a helical manner about the longitudinal axis of the sleeve; a flange is welded to the end face of the sleeve; the flange is provided with a welding surface on the flange end face facing away from the sleeve for welding to a machine part; the welding surface initially has a diffusion-inhibiting layer which inhibits the penetration of carbon; and the welding surface is exposed by removing the diffusion-inhibiting layer after case-hardening the threaded nut. A threaded nut produced according to the method can be part of a ball screw drive, the flange of which can be welded to a provided machine part by the user.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a housing for a spark plug, having a bore along the longitudinal axis X of the housing, the housing comprises an outer side and an inner side and a galvanically applied nickel and zinc-containing protective layer is arranged on at least one part of the outer side of the housing. A sealing layer, which contains silicon, is arranged on the nickel and zinc-containing protective layer.
Abstract:
A threaded tubular component for drilling or working hydrocarbon wells, including at one of its ends a threaded zone produced on its outer or inner peripheral surface depending on whether the threaded end is male or female in type, in which at least a portion of the end is coated with at least one lubricating dry film including at least 65% by weight of a polyaryletherketone, and a process for depositing the film.
Abstract:
A threaded joint for steel pipes comprised of a pin 1 and a box 2 each having a threaded portion (1a, 2a) and an unthreaded metal contact portion (1b, 2b) exhibits adequate leakage resistance and galling resistance when used for makeup of oil country tubular goods with application of a green dope or even without any dope. The threaded joint has a first plating layer of Sn—Bi alloy plating or Sn—Bi—Cu alloy plating formed on the contact surface of at least one of the pin 1 and the box 2. The first plating layer may have a second plating layer selected from Sn plating, Cu plating, and Ni plating on its lower side and at least one layer of a lubricating coating, and particularly a solid lubricating coating, on its upper side.
Abstract:
A method for electroplating small workpieces includes the steps of: (A) providing a rotatable barrel which has an axis of rotation and a plurality of spaced-apart partition plates disposed one above the other; (B) mounting the barrel in a plating tank with the axis of rotation being inclined with respect to a horizontal line; (C) feeding a batch of the workpieces into the barrel; and (D) allowing the workpieces to fall down by gravity from one of the partition plates to the other one of the partition plates by rotating the barrel.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a threaded portion of a tubular element for a threaded tubular connection hiving an axis of revolution, the portion comprising a threading extending over its outer or inner peripheral surface, and a first sealing surface on the peripheral surface, the first sealing surface being capable of producing metal-metal interference with a corresponding second sealing surface belonging to a complementary threaded portion of a tube. The threading and the first sealing surface are coated with a metallic anti-corrosion and anti-galling layer wherein zinc (Zn) is tie major element by weight.
